Personality

What personality type is Nora Stephens? Nora Stephens is an ESTJ personality type in MBTI, 8w9 - so/sp - 862 in Enneagram, RCOEI in Big 5, LIE in Socionics.

It's like Emily Henry googled "Enneagram 8" and based Nora's character off of it (thank you Emily Henry you genius). Enneagram 8's weakness is the fact that they despise vulnerability. They avoid it as much as possible, they detest it, etc. Enneagram 8's motivation is control; they must be in control at all times or there will be serious issues. Nora is the personification of this description. She even admits in several times in the novel. She cannot stand vulnerability, and she hates anything that she can't control. This is also why she becomes known as a terrifying shark. Love is never a priority for her because it's an uncertain factor that cannot be controlled... I could go on and on about this because there is just so much evidence of her 8-type-behavior. As for MBTI, I was rocking between ISTJ and ESTJ throughout the novel and, although I am leaning towards ESTJ, I am not 100% settled and I could be swayed either way. If we ignore the first two functions Te and Si (she uses both constantly so I had to look towards the inferior functions to make a decision), we're left with Ne and Fi. I decided that the point of the novel was to develop her inferior Fi. She was learning more about herself as the story progressed until she was finally able to accept the fact that she should start to listen to how she really feels and what she really wants, instead of brushing off emotions entirely. I think that having their feeling functions at their inferior slot is what makes Charlie and Nora so similar, yet completely different mbti wise. Loved their characters so much lol Emily Henry has done it again
