What personality type is Clay? Clay is an ISTJ personality type in MBTI, 4w5 - sp/so - in Enneagram, RCOEI in Big 5, SLI in Socionics.
‘I don’t want to care. If I care about things, it’ll just be worse, it’ll just be another thing to worry about. It’s less painful if I don’t care.’ The entire story of the book is about Clay recollecting his life and judging what happened in his life so far. He builds an internal framework of nihilism throughout the story using his third-place Fi. Clay has a certain way of viewing his experiences and evaluating and gets hung up on what other people tell him, such as him recollecting things he picks up like Blair saying "people are afraid to merge in LA". Clay sees no way to break his framework by noticing positive patterns and opportunities throughout the story (inferior Ne). I am not sure about his Enneagram, but Clay prefers staying emotionally distancing himself und being unique in his view of the world.
