What personality type is Gil Somyung? Gil Somyung is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 6w5 - so/sp - 612 in Enneagram, RLOAI in Big 5, ILI in Socionics.
Let me share my opinion on her. Even if you type her by functions instead of dichotomies, I still think she's INTJ. I believe people are typing her as a Fe user because she fakes her emotions in front of her mother in order to avoid her mother's suspicion. Jung's Fe, however, goes a bit more complex than that, in which the demonstrative Fe niceties are employed to establish social and political position; the correct way to behave in society, which is why often the INFJs we meet in life are followers of these social etiquettes but also philosophers secretly criticizing and disdaining the empty and "fake" social interactions. Somyung's attempts to fool her mother are so that her plan to get out of the house without resistance won't get obstructed. Somyung's mainly about planning, planning, and going out of her way to execute her plans behind the scenes no matter how troublesome they are (installing a tracker app on Namsoo's phone and tracking her all the time, sneaking into her mother's workspace in an elaborate plan to retrieve a memory card, all the while having to study maximally for her HS entrance exam). She actively executes her plans. This is what I mainly want to stress on. What bothers her the most isn't how annoying Namsoo is for ostracizing her or how she was well-known for having a mental illness, but how Namsoo's accusations will get in her way of her HS application, how her hallucinations of her mother is inefficient to the execution of her plan, and how Sol's mother gets in the way of Sol's growth while simultaneously thinking of a solution to "remove" Sol's mother. She is very Te to me. She readily devises and slowly executes a "curriculum" for Sol to revive her passion for ice skating too, while overlooking how Sol actually feels (low Feeling prowess). She also has a pretty developed albeit imperfect Fi. She defended Namsoo when her mother talked ill about her, stressing on how one can't judge someone carelessly based on their past without taking into account their potential to become better person, and she admired Sol's unique passion in ice skating, stating that Sol's just like an artist. Fi's individual and intensive judgment of a person's quality > Fe's demonstrative and expansive approach to people. That being said, I love Somyung's character. It isn't everyday that we get a fmc who's in full control of her thoughts, will, and actions (externally she may be controlled by her mother, but internally she's one of the most sober main character I've ever seen), even though she's Limbic as heck. I love that about her too. Though she's currently progressing towards a scary direction... 😅
