What personality type is Knight Artorias? Knight Artorias is an ISFP personality type in MBTI, 1w9 - so/sx - 612 in Enneagram, RCOAI in Big 5, ESI in Socionics.
I'm really curious where ISTJ comes from? I'm not voting yet, since I'm not totally sure what his type would be myself. But from the very, very limited information we have on Artorias' personality, he comes off far more as some form of either dominant or auxillary Fi type; he made the decision to enter the Abyss with little guarantee of survival or return, he fights Manus in a battle he had little chance of winning, he sacrifices his cleansing shield to protect Sif, he shows that he doesn't believe "mankind is truly dark" in his dialogue (despite overwhelming physical evidence against him in the context), and more. He seems to be motivated naturally by personal values that don't always align with what's logical or reasonable. While Fi may be a tertiary function for ISTJ's, it doesn't come naturally, nor is it as distinctive of an aspect for them as their dominant and auxillary functions. I don't see how ISTJ is interpreted from his personality, much less so for him to get it as an almost unanimous vote. EDIT: I'm frankly looking at the conclusion I've drawn and almost out-loud saying "this is so stupid that I'm going to regret this tomorrow", but from the limited information we can derive from Artorias' personality, I'm honestly going to picture him as an ISFP. Fi dom makes sense, as I've explained above. Very little else is known about his personality, but even with the very little we understand, he does not come off at all as any of the other types that have Fi in the dom or aux positions (INFP, ENFP, and ESFP are rather blatantly off for many reasons). ISFP would explain why he exhibits traits indicating that he makes decisions based on internal emotional values despite the fact that even his closest confidants, such as Ciaran or Gough, seem to talk about him as if he was rather reserved. Technically, this could almost be applied to INFP, but... come on. Even from the little we know, Ne aux for Artorias just sounds silly. I can't pretend I think I've figured it out definitively (since, again, we're drawing on so little info), but I'm willing to assert my opinion here.
Biography
Knight Artorias, also known as Artorias the Abysswalker, is the titular central antagonist of the Artorias of the Abyss DLC for the 2011 action roleplaying game Dark Souls and a posthumous character of Dark Souls III. Originally a powerful knight who attempted to free Oolacile from the possession of Manus, he was corrupted by the Abyss he was destined to destroy and has become nothing more than those that he had ever fought: a feral monster.
