What personality type is Talos? Talos is an INFJ personality type in MBTI, 6w7 - sx/sp - 692 in Enneagram, RCOAI in Big 5, IEI in Socionics.
Greetings, everyone! ⭐️THE BASIC IMPORTANT INFORMATION⭐️ Ni: Tireless idealism Fe: His empathetic understanding Ti: Logical assessments of situations Se: Eye for detail, but not always realistic (Details below): Talos is a character that I have absolutely loved and I have been attempting to figure out his type since 2019. He is certainly more reserved, quite empathetic, and rather perceptive. I have considered that he could be an INFJ, ISFJ, or even a well-developed ISTP or INTP. This is mostly due to the fact that his true nature was concealed in his debut appearance in the MCU (which I admit was a trick I liked) and his subsequent appearances have been rather limited. Ultimately (too ultimately, I am afraid), I have come to a conclusion and believe him to truly be an INFJ. Ni: Talos is fascinating, in my opinion, to look at from a zoomed-out perspective first and then narrow in on and connect the details. He was a once-great military general but when the Kree fought his people, his faction did not fight them head-on or try to infiltrate the Kree like most of the other generals had done. He found another way. Some have claimed that Talos is a little naïve in his beliefs and while it certainly seems that way, I do not necessarily believe that to be true. Rather, it seems that he is incredibly idealistic for what he hopes to see in the future, as INFJs often are. Si makes very little sense for a military general who has seen some of the worst of sentient beings. Most Si-users that have been in the military for any significant amount of time exhibit traits that become less and less idealistic and more regimented, even Fe-users. He also has tremendous insight into many things, and tells Gravik the truth about exactly how humans will react to his plans. Most importantly, Ni deals with perspectives which enables him to have a very wide understanding of topics and aids in creating his personas, which he is said to have quite a talent for. INFJs are known for being able to be “method actors” and look like almost anyone. Even if one possesses the power to physically change form, this is incredibly useful, and has aided Talos as a spy as well. He did fool the majority of us as Fury for who knows how long! Fe: His empathetic understanding for behavior of sentient beings cannot be understated, and this coupled with Ni gives him a very keen awareness and insight into especially human behavior. As a leader, he has likely utilized his Fe to inspire and unify others, and as a spy, he has likely had to rely heavily on it to get him into and out of places where he’s not supposed to be. Reflected in his first two cognitive functions, there is the desire for meaning and harmony that extends greatly. I can certainly understand why he may be seen as an ENFJ, however it seems to me that his Ti is very much on a similar level with Fe. Ti: INFJs have an interesting balance between thinking and feeling and I believe Talos reflects this very well. He possesses a very logical understanding about individuals, strategy and tactics, military matters, and espionage. He has a certain rationality to how he sees the universe, but it is often filtered through his very idealistic lens. He also has the wisdom to understand when something is beyond his scope and seeks aid from others when needed, as seen with his “science guy” in Captain Marvel. He values the perspectives of those who are more knowledgeable than him and this is a characteristic I greatly respect. Se: Talos has an eye for detail, but he is not always as realistic as he could be. He is also not as quick to react in some situations which has sadly gotten him into trouble on a few occasions. Enneagram type 6 seems to be very evident in his desire for security for himself and his people. Not facing the Kree and hiding could be considered cowardice by some, but I believe it to be strategic. His courage in the face of great fear is seen in his character throughout and even the holy idea of faith is evident, especially in the latest episode of Secret Invasion. Although he displays traits of both wings, 6w7 seems to be more likely due to his seemingly apparent fear of him and his people being deprived and in pain and desire to be satisfied and content, even if the others of his people are not as content or satisfied with him. He is also notably optimistic, as mentioned before, and incredibly versatile. I am afraid that I am still unsure about his instinctual variant and tritype, but I will be sure to edit this comment after a rewatch if I figure that out. Ultimately, I have loved the character of Talos and how he and the skrulls as a whole have become so much more nuanced than their comic counterparts, and considering nuanced perspectives are their stock and trade, Talos being an INFJ makes tremendous sense. Biography
Talos is a Skrull General who collaborated with Mar-Vell in order to save the Skrull refugees from the Kree Empire. Despite appearing to be a fearsome military leader on the surface, Talos is an honorable, kind, and caring leader who wants the best for the Skrull population and his family, whose safety he puts before everything else. He respects diplomacy, often choosing to solve problems through negotiations rather than conflict, as he called out Carol Danvers for being too quick to attack during his visit to the Rambeau Residence. That being said, Talos has an intense hatred towards the Kree and won't hesitate to resort to violence when facing them or those who he thinks are their allies, as was seen by how he also attempted to kill Nick Fury when the latter was working with Vers and discovered that he was impersonating R. Keller. Talos is a pragmatic person willing to forgive others and accept his mistakes.
