What personality type is Rio Ranger? Rio Ranger is an ESFP personality type in MBTI, 4w3 - sx/so - 487 in Enneagram, SLUEN in Big 5, SEE in Socionics.
Se - I don't really see Ranger having Ne as a dominant process, he doesn't seem to look for possibilities in the outside world as much as he values concrete data (and yes, I was a supporter of ENTP Ranger for a good bit of time). He doesn't wander a lot in ideas and he always acts and perceives in the spur of the moment without considering the consequences (a clear sign of inferior Ni). Se-Te makes him take decisions on tangible facts especially. Fi - He doesn't make decisions based on an internal logic framework, he makes decisions on his values, his feelings against humans are what guide him. He has such a deep-rooted inferiority complex in regards to humans, because it was programmed on him. His values are messed up, but they're there. Even taking clothes from the dead was an act of Fi. His Fi is pretty badly developed. Te - This one in my opinion is pretty obvious, even though he acts a lot on his values against humans, he is pretty focused in efficiency and order in his environment when he's not acting on his unhealthy Fi. As I believe he has underdeveloped Fi (although he uses it quite a lot), he seems to deem other's acts of kindness as useless and inefficient (as seen in the ch 2-2 recap or when Sara comments on the clothes he's wearing). He also holds a lot of devotion towards the organization especially his dad, (an authority figure, stereotypical ik) always following his orders towards the floor and never questioning his logic (the definition of Te, of basing your thinking in outside systems) and always makes a point to be harsher than Miley (seen in the 4komas and in the deleted scene with him and Shin). Ni - This one is also apparent, and while Fi inferior makes sense, I suppose he uses it too much for an inferior function. He a lot of times doesn't consider the implications of his actions like killing Reko/Alice on a whim (which costs his life) and making slip-ups to the participants (usually signs of Ni inferior). This was my first argument on personality database so if I've said anything wrong, inform me.
