Personality

What personality type is Catherine "Cathy" Linton? Catherine "Cathy" Linton is an ESFJ personality type in MBTI, 2w3 - so/sp - 297 in Enneagram, SCOAI in Big 5, ESE in Socionics.

ESFJ. No way she could be an ENFJ, there is not a single Ni about her and Si is so strong. Circumstances and future turn of events are never a concept for her. She is never able to see through Heathcliff's intentions in beguiling her or Linton's pretend-sick. Copious signs of dominant Fe fettering her to Linton Heathcliff, yet all of her visits, letters, and sneak-offs were made without fathoming what consequences they might bring in the future (Ni). Instead they were aided by her Si. Memories of past encounters kept her visiting Linton - her memories about a cousin she met 3 years ago for only a few hours had an extremely powerful grip on her. This is what moves her. And She always talks to Nella about these Si details, remembering how Linton looked or reacted on her last visit, etc, which invokes her pity and makes her continue going. A typical pattern of Si supporting Fe. Inferior Ti as she never understands the logical reasons for her visits to Wuthering Heights being forbidden. No matter how many times she is explained, she doesn't comprehend the logic or and lets her feelings, cries every time and lets her feelings take hold of her decisions. I'll admit, it was painful for me to watch this absolute lack of Ti.

Biography

She starts as a slightly haughty but kind-hearted girl, but all the second part of the novel is about Heathcliff breaking her. Under Heathcliff's tyrannical rule over her new husband's home, she withers and becomes embittered and cold.
