Personality

What personality type is Johann Schmidt “Red Skull”? Johann Schmidt “Red Skull” is an ENTJ personality type in MBTI, 8w7 - sp/sx - 854 in Enneagram, RCOEI in Big 5, LSI in Socionics.

The MCU's Johann Schmidt "Red Skull" is a definite XNTJ, but since I type him ENTJ over INTJ it would behoove me to explain why, wouldn't it? So that's what I'm going to do. The great explanations have always been delivered by those who used not just to head up their ass, but to head out of it. I've tried thinking of where the red of the skull got its crimson bowels' burnish. Although I want to say it was INTJ's because of Nazis (Hail Hydra!) there's no way an INTJ asserts himself the way Schmidt does, and there's no way an INTJ uses subjective knowledge/expectancy (Ni) as Schmidt uses it. Why is the MCU's Johann Schmidt "Red Skull" not an INTJ? Schmidt's problem of ambition is not wanting to change the face of his world (e.g. Doctor Doom - INTJ), but it is to get rid of all individual (in division) emblems. "You could have the power of the gods! Yet you wear a flag on your chest and think you fight a battle of nations! I have seen the future Captain! There are no flags!" "Not in my future!" ―Red Skull and Captain America This dialogue expresses the difference between strong feeling (Captain America - INFJ) and weak feeling (Red Skull - ENTJ). Schmidt is not as sentimentally invexed (i.e. curved inward) in his way as an INTJ would be, but, rather, Schmidt executes his way out through variations in his environment instead of within assortments of his own knowledge. Schmidt uses everything as a tool. Completely absent is sentimentality's value in Schmidt's eyes. INTJs having tertiary subjective metrics/values/limitation (Fi) are incapable of Schmidt's level of pre-emptive unaccountability. Simply put, INTJs do not repress their feeling like Schmidt does. He gets bothered, but he gets sidetracked. In the midst of chaos he does not lose the ability to judge effectively. He is only taken out by an oddity of circumstance when Cap's shield hits the tesseract. Before that moment Schmidt was very much in control of himself. INTJs have inferior objective opportunism (Se), meaning INTJs manifest sensory reaction in primitive ways, which, to provide examples, could involve binge eating, thoughtless promiscuity, or an overextension in physical combat, i.e. fighting above your belt. Schmidt examples none of inferior Se self-recklessness. A better case can be made for ENTJ over INTJ on this ground especially. Red Skull : "Arrogance may not be a uniquely American trait, but I must say, you do it better than anyone. But there are limits to what even you can do, Captain, or did Erskine tell you otherwise?" Steve Rogers : "He told me you were insane." Red Skull : "Ah. He resented my genius and tried to deny me what was rightfully mine, but he gave you everything. So, what made you so special?" Steve Rogers : "Nothing. I'm just a kid from Brooklyn." This dialogue examples Schmidt's disdain for subjective metrics/values/limitation (Fi). Captain America has 6th Slot unconscious Fi. It expresses at this juncture and it is what triggers what we see of interacted emotion from Schmidt. An INTJ would not likely be triggered by such an answer, because INTJs understand Fi with somewhat of an intimacy. Such answers offend Te dominant types, because Te is so familiar with associative thinking that the thought of expressing banality as superiority is abhorrent anathema. We see this on Schmidt's face. He is repressing introverted feeling. He does not wish to think alike that he is "just some kid," but he would rather he be a god. This scene is dominant objective optics (Te) manifesting in retaliation to repress subjective metrics/values/limitation (Fi). "Tomorrow, HYDRA will stand as master of the world, borne to victory on the wings of the Valkyrie. Our enemies' weapons will be powerless against us. If they shoot down one plane, hundreds more will rain fire upon them! If they cut off one head, two more shall take its place." ―Red Skull to HYDRA Compare this quote to one of Nick Fury's (ENTJ) speeches speaking from S.H.I.E.L.D.'s point-of-view and you can see the similarities between Schmidt and Fury as both are ENTJ. They construct arguments the same way, but one is good and the other is Schmidt. "You are deluded, Captain. You pretend to be a simple soldier but, in reality, you are just afraid to admit that we have left humanity behind. Unlike you, I embrace it proudly. Without fear!" ―Red Skull to Captain America This quote further examples Schmidt's aim to repress introverted feeling. The part "without fear" is Schmidt commenting on subjective metrics/values/limitation (Fi). The MCU's Johann Schmidt "Red Skull" is an ENTJ.

Biography

Johann Schmidt is the former head of HYDRA, the special weapons division of the Nazi Schutzstaffel and a modern-day incarnation of the ancient society. Having become a confidant of Adolf Hitler during World War II, Schmidt gained ambitions to become the superior man, leading him to test the version of Abraham Erskine's Super Soldier Serum on himself, resulting with him becoming hideously disfigured as well as gaining the name of Red Skull. Red Skull touched the Tesseract with his bare hands, prompting it to create a wormhole and send him elsewhere. Red Skull was teleported to Vormir, where he became trapped in a state of purgatory, becoming a Stonekeeper, a wraith advising whoever sought the Soul Stone. After seven decades on Vormir, Red Skull met Thanos and Gamora, as they sought the Soul Stone. Red Skull led them to it and disappeared. #CompleteMonster
