nesta is a 1 not an 8. i agree that she appears as someone who doesn’t want to be dominated or controlled, like an 8, but her vice is not lust. anger fits her way better. she fits the trait structure of e1 so well, where as e8 it’s a bit iffy. the enneagram one trait structure: anger: - nesta’s driving force criticality: yes demandingness: yes dominance: yes perfectionism: yes over-control: YES self-criticism: yes yes yes discipline: sort of she fits 7.5/8 of the traits and the enneagram eight trait structure lust: no punitiveness: sort of rebelliousness: no (her being depressed in the later books doesn’t count - it’s not in her nature to be rebellious, plus she was literally changed from human to fae, it’s traumatizing) dominance: yes (but the 8s dominance is different than the 1s, she fits the 1s “disdainful and patronizing” dominance more than the 8s “power-seeking” dominance.) insensitivity: yes conning and cynicism: sort of (cynicism i see, conning no) exhibitionism (narcissism): no autonomy: not really (she does act independently, but she deep down doesn’t want to be alone & doesn’t crave autonomy. she tells cassian she just wants him in the most recent book. also, she relied completely on feyre in book 1 to be the provider, despite her being older & just let her sister go out in the woods without helping. she definitely relies on other people - sure she was averse to rhysand’s help, but she was mad about being fae & just depressed so idk if that really counts?) sensory-motor dominance: no she fits 3/8 of the traits she’s pretty clearly a 1 - w9 makes more sense than w2. i mean i guess i could see some pride in her? but not really & i do think she numbs her emotions enough for a 9 wing. plus w9 are usually more remote & stiff than w2s, nesta is definitely a solitary person. this link has more information on each part of the trait structure, and i think nesta fits e1 according to these descriptions. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1D648MH4N2P1HsOUO0r_wNiS-WOeia4SZ/view?usp=drivesdk
Biography
Nesta Archeron (pronounced: Nes-tah) is the sister of Feyre and Elain Archeron. They lived together alongside their father at the beginning of A Court of Thorns and Roses. She is the eldest of the Archeron sisters and Cassian's mate. With the help of Emerie and Gwyneth Berdara she revived the Valkyries, a legendary group of elite female warriors wiped out 500 years prior to the series, and became a Valkyrie herself. She underwent Illyrian training under Cassian and Azriel's supervision and is, with Gwyn and Emerie, the first female to participate in (albeit forcibly) and complete the Illyrian Blood Rite ceremony. She was originally mortal but was Made into High Fae after being thrown into the Cauldron by the King of Hybern. She is cold, calculating, the Archeron sister who felt it all too keenly, too sharply, a blade given form.
