What personality type is James "Jimmy" Hopkins? James "Jimmy" Hopkins is an ISTP personality type in MBTI, 8w9 - sp/sx - 864 in Enneagram, RCUEN in Big 5, SLE in Socionics.
I see a lot of Ti usage in this guy. In fact, I see Ti-Se-Ni in good use. The dominance of Ti in Hopkins manifests itself from the subjective principles and rules that he has formulated in his mind. In the fight against Russell, he says "because are a bunch of kids around this place who need a beating, and you're picking on the ones who don't deserve, so I want you to leave me and him alone". Many people may interpret this phrase as a use of Fi, but in fact, this is a use of Ti. It's the dominance and subjectivity of Ti wanting everything to conform to what is logical and rational: beating those who deserve to be beaten. Jimmy's use of Se auxiliary is explained as he orientates himself to the external environment. His Se, without a doubt, is stronger than Gary Smith's. Gary preferred to plan and act behind the scenes, which confirms Gary's use of auxiliary Ni. He didn't need to use anything but his own manipulative conversations. Jimmy, on the other hand, needed an external involvement: the use of force to dominate the school. There is no way he has inferior Ni use, since he has no planning and intuition difficulties, i.e., he has good tertiary Ni use. Jimmy Hopkins planned to dominate the school to bring peace and end bullying by beating the crap out of every faction leader. Finally, Jimmy's use of inferior Fe comes about from the way he communicates with people. He's not emotionally connected to anyone and shows certain difficulties with this. Jimmy Hopkins is socially introverted (I believe an ESTP is unlikely to be introverted) and is always on the defensive. No wonder he took Gary badly when Gary wanted to be his friend early in the game. Addendum: "Jimmy had previously been expelled from seven schools for a variety of reasons which include graffiti, violent conduct, bad language, being disrespectful to staff, and according to small talk, arson." This guy is the best definition of an ISTP and is one of my favorite characters.
