I feel like this Nikki slander is a bit unessessary. It is true she is overdramatic and acts like a pick-me, but in all honesty, SHE'S WRITING IN A BOOK! Not to mention she's a teenage girl and hormones tend to fire on all cylinders at that age. After reading the book series a couple times, I want to disprove some of the things you guys are saying. "She is such a jerk to everyone". No, she's not. Outside of the book, she's a pretty friendly person towards everyone, even when she doesn't like them in her inner mind when writing about them. When she writes about how to reply to a certain someone, she usually says it in her head and NOT out loud. "She doesn't deserve Brandon or her friends" If this statement were true then we would all be undeserving of friends and lovers, right? I mean, haven't we all unintentionally hurt our friends in some shape, way, or form? Nikki genuinely loves her friends, and even though she can sometimes be embarassed by them (not outwardly mind you), she would never want to hurt them on purpose. And what about Brandon? Nikki has done multiple things to help him because she seems to care about him a lot. One example was entering the Ice Skating Competition so she could keep Fuzzy Friends open for him. Another example was from the recent book when she was gonna try and expose Mackenzie so Brandon wouldn't lose Fuzzy Friends, even if that means risking her spot in the tour. "She doesn't appreciate her family" Deep down, she does. Yes, Nikki is often embarassed by her parents and annoying little sister, but when push comes to shove she wouldn't replace them for anyone else. Think of the fourth book when she bought a big cupcake from the Nutcracker play. When she passed Brianna's door and heard her sad song, she felt awful and gave her cupcake to her. Not to mention in another book when Nikki was basically tired of Brianna, but then she realizes she can't live without her. "Mackenzie is a better person than her" ARE YOU GUYS NUTS?!?! Mackenzie's personality may be more interesting than Nikki in some opinions but Mackenzie was selfish, rude, and terribly mean towards everyone. Outwardly. She doesn't care about people's feelings. All she cares about is her image and being the most popular girl in school. Not to mention she didn't even try to care about Brandon and just wanted him to ber her boyfriend, no matter the cost, Fuzzy friends or even his happiness. When comparing her and Nikki, Nikki is the better person. In conclusion, I understand you have your reasons for disliking Nikki because of her pick-me behavior. But, try to understand that Nikki is a fourteen year old insecure girl. Nikki's diary is just an exaggeration of what actually happens in real life. She hardly ever says what she is thinking because she wants to preserve everyone's feelings. Some of her negative attitude was because of Mackenzie's manipulative behavior.
Biography
Nikki is the new girl in school. She’s a self-proclaimed dork and chronic doodler with big dreams and an even bigger addiction to writing in her diary. Nikki often underestimates herself despite her many talents. Although she finds herself knee deep in drama (no thanks to her little sister and arch nemesis), this dork embraces her dorkiness and always lands on her feet!
