What personality type is Superman (Kal-El / Clark Kent)? Superman (Kal-El / Clark Kent) is an ISFJ personality type in MBTI, 6w5 - so/sx - 629 in Enneagram, RCOAN in Big 5, ESI in Socionics.

This version of Supes always seemed slightly more high strung and neurotic than the other iterations of Superman as he is more skeptical and distrusting of people. Like a 6, this version values the concept of a reliable system of security and his Justice Lord counterpart very much emphasized this motivation for adopting the new system on the basis of reliability. This version convinced the League to change to the Justice Lords by appealing to the fear of uncertainty of a democracy. Also, for the INFP voters, I don’t believe anything in the show demonstrated Supes ever having anything other than dom Si. This version of Supes is reliant on his impressions of how things have always been in a way that can make him incredibly stubborn and closed minded. For example, when he fought Shazam and destroyed a bunch of buildings. This happened because what Lex appeared to be trying to do at the moment lacked consistency with the impression of how Superman knows Lex to typically act, and he ended up making a huge mistake by relying only on his impression to validate his actions. Superman is also often handicapped when it comes to adapting to new circumstances, which is consistent with dom introverted perceivers due to inf extroverted percieving. If he was an INFP I believe he would have a less rigid understanding of how things can work together, and that he would be better equipped at seeing potential in different ideas. Instead, he often validates his judgements on the basis of what his experiences have taught him is the best way to do things, and he conforms his behavior to accommodate to the thoughts and feelings of society at large. His judgements are rarely a result of him searching his own values and preferences, they are taken from his experiences and from his acknowledgment of people’s responses to his methods. To him if society disagrees then it may not be the best method. His own opinion he tends to suppress to appeal to other people.

Biography

Superman is the quintessential Cape of the DC Animated Universe. He was a Kryptonian orphan named Kal-El who was launched to Earth as an infant to avoid suffering a cataclysmic death on his home planet of Krypton. His spacecraft landed in a Kansas field, where he was discovered by Jonathan and Martha Kent, who raised the boy as their son under the name "Clark". As Clark matured under Earth's yellow sun, he gained powers. As an adult, he moved to Metropolis to work as a newspaper reporter at the Daily Planet. It was here that he became aware of the corruption and evil in the world, deciding he must use his gifts to right these wrongs and taking the name "Superman" after a story of his deeds is published in the Daily Planet by Lois Lane, who uses the term. After having to work long and hard to regain the world's trust in him as of a result of being brainwashed by Darkseid into leading his second invasion of Earth, Superman was the one who first suggested that he and other superheroes form the Justice League in order to deal with future threats as great as the Imperium. He was shown to be the face of the Justice League as well as the peacemaker for the other members.
