What personality type is Luke Danes? Luke Danes is an ISTJ personality type in MBTI, 6w5 - sp/sx - 612 in Enneagram, RLOAN in Big 5, SLI in Socionics.
Luke imo, is a hard character to type. I feel like he was "meant" to be an ISTP. Especially in the earlier seasons, you can sort of sense some Ti, in the way he's very attuned to his own internal logic, and his bicker with Lorelai is usually over the "illogicality" of her actions (Ti blindspot). Inferior Fe also kind of makes sense for him, he seems insecure about displaying emotion, and comes off a little awkward because of it (Interaction with Rory at her graduation, meeting Nicole's parents etc). On top of this there's the fact that he fits pretty much all of the ISTP stereotypes. Being extremely handy and practical? Check. Being "only good for a couple of gruff monosyllables"? Check. Being a loner growing up? Check. Being against tradition and foolish rules? Check. So I can see why he's voted ISTP, but it doesn't quite add up for me. No, he doesn't like the traditions and rules of the town (mostly enforced by Taylor), but he has his own traditions he follows down to a T. His sense of duty (to his father, to Rory, to Lorelai, to Jess etc..) and the way he's often using the argument, "This is what you do". He has his own "rules" and way of life that he preaches to others, as much as Taylor does. He seems to use a lot of Si and Te, maybe more so than Ti and Se. Soo, maybe he's an ISTJ with an ISTP vibe? But then again, I feel like it depends on the timeline, at some points during the series he genuinely seems like an ISTP, and others an ISTJ.
Biography
The owner of the local diner in Stars Hollow that Lorelai and Rory frequent often. Despite his gruff exterior, he is very dependable.
