Arthur MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Arthur? Arthur is an ISTJ personality type in MBTI, 5w6 - sp/so - 513 in Enneagram, RCOAN in Big 5, LII in Socionics.

A large portion of Arthur's dialogue shows repressed Ne. Whereas Eames (who I type as Ne dominant) quickly picks up on and expands on the ideas of others, and emphasizes the possibilities inherent in a situation (while skimping on the details), Arthur does the opposite, rejecting possibilities and relying on the facts that are known for certain: Cobb: "What do you want from us?" Saito: "Inception. Is it possible?" Arthur: "Of course not." Arthur: "True inspiration's impossible to fake." Arthur: "Look, I know how much you want to go home. This can't be done." Cobb: "Yes it can. You just have to go deep enough." Arthur: "You don't know that." Cobb: "Arthur keeps telling me it can't be done." Eames: "Hmm...Arthur...You still working with that stick in the mud?" Cobb: "He is good at what he does." Eames. "Oh, he's the best. But he has no imagination." Cobb: "We need to find a way to translate this into an emotional concept." Arthur: "How do you translate a business strategy into an emotion?" Cobb: "That's what we're here to figure out, right?" Cobb: "That might work." Arthur: "'Might'? We're going to have to do a little better than 'might'." Eames: "Oh, thank you for your contribution, Arthur." Arthur: "Forgive me for wanting a little specificity, Eames." Eames: "That boy's relationship with his father is even worse than we imagined." Arthur: "This helps us how?" I will also add that, unlike the other characters, he is shown studying and referencing notes on multiple occasions, which is a sign that he is more interested than the others in mastering all the various components of the dream world. So, although he does come across as mentally rigid at times, he is nevertheless very creative within the systems that he has mastered already. When it comes to his rigging of the explosives on the second dream level, I don't necessarily see this as true improvisation in the Se or Ne sense, but rather assembling a solution using puzzle pieces with which he is already familiar.
