People saying he uses Se over Ne for the simple fact that he is capable of yk simply,,,, observing the outside objective reality really amaze me, like, I hope y'all are aware that intuitives don't exactly live only in their heads and are incapable of perceiving the actual concrete reality, saying he's a Se dom simply because he observes reality is almost like saying he is a Se dom because he has eyes and can see lmao, absolutely everyone is capable of observing reality, especially someone in their 40s, like he was, a Se dom would never even enjoy having to do so many associations in their head about different things seemingly unrelated to each other pretty much everyday. I watched the show long ago but I clearly remember a scene that makes it pretty obvious that he is a Ne dom, the scene explained briefly is when Red John sent a message on Van Pelt's computer, I don't remember the context or the message tho, but I remember he signed the message with another name, and Jane immediately reordered the letters in the name Red John signed his message with and discovered that the letters from that name reordered could actually spell "Red John", now tell me, what Se dom would've had that as their first reaction to seeing a message from some supposedly random guy? Pretty much none, Se isn't interested in abstract meanings and hidden messages, especially not in a dominant position. Not to mention that if he really was a Se dom, he would've taken a completely different route to get revenge on Red John, he most likely would've persuaded /tricked someone else who was smart and capable to do all the "connecting the dots" work, not because Se doms can't connect any dots, but simply because in 9/10 cases they don't exactly enjoy it. Another thing that doesn't make sense with him being Se dom is that he's clearly a so7, an enneagram subtype that's not even compatible with Se doms, if you read about it. And also his inferior Si, he's kinda trying to run away from his past but he can't, he doesn't want to remember what happened to his wife and daughter but his motivation to keep living is given exactly by what happened to them, he didn't take off his wedding ring even after a long time from his wife's death nor did he really try to find himself another lover until he got his revenge, ik many people in his situation maybe would've reacted the same because it's a very traumatic thing, but imo a Se dom would've gotten over this way faster and wouldn't have gotten stuck in the past, generally Se users get over the past faster and with more ease than Si users, especially Se doms. Imo it's hard to mistake him for a Se dom, just look at him, he makes connections between outside things seemingly unrelated to each other with so much ease, it's clear to tell it comes naturally for him, it's almost like breathing, he doesn't just observe the objective reality, he makes associations between different parts of reality, and he does so every single day without finding it hard, without making it seem like it's a complicated hardwork and that's exactly the way a dominant cognitive function would manifest in most cases.
