“I’ll take my chances with him.” MBTI —> Honestly, I’ll have to do more research to get a more sophisticated understanding of Ti, but someone in the comments here help clarify it’s similarities to Fi as self-preserving… …when I say “values”, I don’t necessarily mean like subjective morals, but rather for the context of Wolverine, it’s preserving what he logically understands as survivability principles, and adaptively applying those individualistic choices of logic in real-time to present situations via Se - I think it especially comes up as compared to Cyclops’ own supposed Si-Te as an ISTJ in the Statue of Liberty battle when Cyclops is leading the team based off established plans, whilst Wolverine is off doing his own thing. —> I must stress that a lot of my comments are not of my original thought as they are based off what I’m reading here in the comment section and making connective interpretations between them and what I saw from the movies - but yeah, more immature, tertiary Ni perhaps involves coming to far too quick abstract conclusions about things, I think this can be pretty explanatory of Wolverine’s doubtfulness about the whole X-Men thing when Cyclops and Storm first got him brought to the school, especially with his snarky nickname for Professor X - “Wheels”, lol. —> His inferior Fe obviously starts as a bit immature, having no qualms about having sexual tension with Jean Grey and being a bit too dismissing of her already established relationship with Cyclops and other little things, such as his indifference in taking beer from Iceman’s parents’ fridge or everything with Cyclops’ motorcycle, but it starts rounding out when in The Last Stand when he takes on a leadership role ENNEAGRAM —> 8w9 makes plenty of sense, yes, he has very real anger over the gut triad, but it’s not as directly outward as the “Maverick” Wing 7, it’s more resigned and occasionally outwardly channeled per Wing 9, such the hilarious moment when he yells out after stabbing the militant dude against the fridge in the school’s kitchen and then looks over at Iceman and casually asks him if he’s okay —> His more integrative approaches to 2-like charitable protectiveness does come through in the whole sequence of Stryker raiding the school, checking on the kids to make sure they’re okay and prioritizing their protection unless otherwise haunted by his memory whenever Stryker presents himself and especially in his relationship with Rogue as she is relatable in the sense of having a traumatic past that she’s on the physical and mental run from —> Otherwise, more insecure secrecy per unhealthy 5-likeness comes out in moments when he first finds himself in the mansion, understandably scared as he had no idea how he got into an environment unfamiliar to him, but also everything with his past Stryker, bottling those darker parts of his history down to the point of repression as he seeks Professor Ax’s help in unfolding his memory PERSONAL THOUGHTS —> Yeah, right off the bat in X-Men (2000), Hugh Jackman made the role of Wolverine his, slipping into it naturally and nailing the character’s characteristic gruffness, but also protective guardianship, giving an appropriate lens for the audience to experience the cinematic world of X-Men through the first time through —> And of course, his ambiguous past became all the more interesting in X2, as apparently all the answers weren’t given in returning to the facilities that grafted adumantium (spelled that wrong :/) to him in the first place, but he also becomes more rounded out with growing maturity in being a guardian for the younger X-Men whilst also still having real flaws of his vain feelings for Jean Grey —> Now, among MANY THINGS with the Last Stand, I didn’t much like the direction his character was taken in as I thought by the end of X2, he came to realize that Jean Grey’s love was for Cyclops, but then here, he’s confessing his love to Jean before he stabs her to death in order to stop the Phoenix Force, just felt inconsistent, but coming into a leadership role for the team was good for his character though. Obviously, Wolverine has a much more involved presence in the X-Men cinematic universe, but I just wanted to touch upon the original trilogy for now and will follow up with more comments as a I re-watch the other films. Thank you.
