What personality type is Belle? Belle is an INFP personality type in MBTI, 4w5 - sx/so - 495 in Enneagram, RCUAI in Big 5, IEI in Socionics.
Warning this is a rant 😡: I am so sick of it. I am so sick of every time there is a healthy INFP character, people start typing this character as a different type, preferably INFJ or ENFP. Seriously guys what is your problem? If you look at this side, the majority of proper arguments longer than two or three sentences are for INFP. INFJ voters claim that she is an Auxilliary Fe user, because she is kind. Seriously? Fe has nothing to do with kindness. You can be a Fe user and still be the worst backstabbing person in the world. If you look at any definition of Fe, be it by C. G. Jung himself or another at least semi credible source, you will find out that Belle has almost no Fe. Fe users are attuned to the expecting and values of society and often internalize them insight their own values and mindset, which is why they have less trouble fitting in or being accepted in social group than Fe user. Fe is about building up your values from a collectivist framework and working to achieve the greatest sort of consensus or harmony with your environment. Belle never does that. She is sort of an outside as her society as she isn‘t interested in what society expects from her. She doesn’t behave how a woman is expected to behave, she has interests that other villagers find irritating, but she never cares a bit about it, as she follows her own set of feelings and interests. She is oblivious to social dynamics and even doesn‘t recognize Gaston’s obvious affections for her for a long time, as she is more focused on her own feelings. When everyone else tells her the Beast is bad and dangerous, she doesn‘t follow their judgment, but makes her own and decides to see the good in him, rather than judging him by conventional societies standards. Belle is calm and gentle and not overtly dramatic and expressive of her feelings, which is why some of you like to type her as a Fe user, but actually Fe is the functions that is outwardly emotional expressive, while Fi is described by Jung with the phrase „still waters run deep“ as they hide their feelings beneath the surface. This is basically Belle. Belle might be stubborn and follows her own values and feelings, but not in the immature way Fi is stereotyped as, but in a healthy way, which is why some of you like to claim her as an INFJ. The saintly type that can do no wrong. The more mature version of INFP and ISFJ, at least in some of your eyes. As an INFJ myself, we aren‘t like that at all. Don‘t put our type on a pedestal and let others have there good ones as well. It’s just frustrating at this point. And especially towards you self typed INFPs, you are actually the worst in putting your own type down. Just because yourself are lazy, dramatic or unable to handle your life, there are still healthy INFPs out there. Instead of kin typing unhealthy ISFJ/ISFP and INFJs as one of your own and deliberately mistyping healthy ones, start to work on your own problems and get a life, later than using your supposed type as an excuse for everything.
