rewatching s1 (haven't watched the other seasons in many years) and i get the impression that laurel has a lot of fe but she suppresses it and chooses to act on her principles when she would rather act on her feelings (and often ends up doing so anyway in the end) because she thinks it's the "right" thing to do (maybe due to her upbringing under quentin) and won't lead her wrong (as it has in the past w oliver). imo, it's why she chooses to be with tommy instead of caving to her feelings for oliver bc she wants to make the 'right' choice and go for the guy who's changing explicitly to be worthy of her vs the guy who hurt her worse than anyone ever has and tells her to stay away from him. i see her as not wanting to be influenced/swayed by the emotions of others as it hurt her badly in the past, but she ends up falling into that regardless; like wanting to be w tommy because he obviously wants to be with her and then framing it in her mind that she's making the right choice that allows herself dignity by not going back to the person who cheated on her. like there's this one line where she says that the hood is everything she's been taught to be against, but she feels that he's doing good and feels a draw towards him (bc it's oliver, though she doesn't know it) and implicitly feels that he won't hurt her, whereas quentin takes so much longer to put aside his values/personal ethics as an fi user.
Biography
Laurel was idealistic, intelligent, hard-working, and fights hard to get what she wants. She was a competent, upstanding lawyer aiming to stand up for the innocent and what was right, despite the corruption in Starling City. Laurel can be stubborn, feisty, and independent and doesn't like to be told what to do. She was attracted to troublemakers, as shown when she dated both Oliver and Tommy. Laurel gets annoyed when her father tries to get in the way, always forming his opinion of her boyfriends, even though it almost never changes her mind. Laurel was tough and more than capable of taking care of herself. She takes risks, such as contacting the vigilante for help in her cases. She can't resist saving people from tough situations, from when Tommy and Oliver were going to get beat up in the night club Poison, to innocent people being wrongfully accused. Laurel is shown to have a big heart, being open-minded and inquisitive, having a tendency to see the best in the people around her.
