What personality type is Shiver? Shiver is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 8w9 - sp/so - 864 in Enneagram, RCOEI in Big 5, SLE in Socionics.
︵‿︵‿୨ My Shiver Typology Analysis Part 1/3୧‿︵‿︵ This analysis contains spoilers for the splatoon 3 story mode! Personally, I believe that Shiver is an INTJ. Firstly, I’d like to argue her Te being stronger than her Ti. More than often, she questions the objective logic of those in her environment, usually Big Man. During the second splatfest announcement, Big Man states his arguments for choosing fun and adds, that he’d like to take a card game with him to the abandoned island in question. Right after, Shiver asks him the following: “Who are you going to play against? A caterpillar? And how will you stay warm?” (https://youtu.be/wwcVMcS7G6w , 2:14 -2:18) She doubts his rationale, as the key word in the splatfest announcement is “deserted island”, which means that nobody would be there to play a card game with him. Another example can also be found in the second Splatfest announcement, during which she questions her peers logic once more. When explaining her choice, she says: “That’s why I pick Team Gear. I’ll HARVEST food and be living in comfort. Unbothered. Meanwhile, you’ll be shivering in the dark, eating ice-cold enchiladas off a leaf” (https://youtu.be/wwcVMcS7G6w, 1:35 - 1:45). Furthermore, I believe that her Fi is stronger than her Fe as well, especially if we consider her Ni-Fi approach to trusting, and eventually working together with our main cast of characters during the story mode. Her social relationships are defined by personal ideals and she interprets their strength/quality/validity based on actions. At first her (alongside the entirety of Deep Cut), treat Agent 3 and friends like a threat. By merely standing on alternian ground, they assume that the main cast want to snatch their treasure. It takes the actions of Agent 3 and Marie’s and Callie’s words to prove, that they’ve never even considered stealing the treasure in the first place. Upon this realization, Shiver is in disbelief: “You’re done with it? Done… with treasure? What’s wrong with you?” and “This is a trick right?” is what she says. Now, having proved your trust and friendliness to her, the octoling says: “Seriously. Such a Boss move. Actually… why don’t YOU be our boss?” (https://youtu.be/oArxlSMl4ic, 18:43 - 19:13). Her aforementioned line further proves Te > Ti by showing her systemtic approach to companionship. Another small detail which I haven’t mentioned is the abstraction for choosing to represent team rock during the first splatfest: “Uhm have you ever heard of rock? It’s literally the most solid choice. Rock is the shape of a triumphant fist held high. It’s solid, stable, a foundation. Shiver seems to be quite well aware of her surroundings, which we can see in this statement for example: “Hate to interrupt Frye… but have you looked around? We’ve hit the jackpot!
