"To render their own anger less threatening, the mechanism of reaction formation transforms the heat of anger into warmth." Just because he's a warm person doesn't mean that the way that his anger is expressed turns into warmth. He isn't obsessed with the idea of being a "good person" and holding back his anger. In fact, he's quick to express his anger towards other people, like when he scolds Grace's brash behavior, or... a spoiler that I'm going to get into. And as far as I can tell, he doesn't care much at all about being perfect himself; all of his attention is on other people. "Miss Madison! You'll scare her if you shout like that!" - Wolfgang to Grace, correcting her demeanor towards Toshiko. "Don't be so heartless, this could be someone in need!" - Wolfgang to Eva when she tries to leave Eloise alone. 𝐅𝐞 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐭. "𝓣𝓻𝓾𝓽𝓱𝓯𝓾𝓵𝓵𝔂, 𝓘 𝓭𝓸𝓷'𝓽...𝓫𝓾𝓽 𝓘'𝓵𝓵 𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓾𝓮 𝓽𝓸 𝓽𝓻𝓾𝓼𝓽 𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓶 𝓪𝓼 𝓲𝓯 𝓘 𝓭𝓸...𝓫𝓮𝓬𝓪𝓾𝓼𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓮𝔂'𝓻𝓮 𝓤𝓵𝓽𝓲𝓶𝓪𝓽𝓮𝓼." ✧. ┊As for Fe dominant, even though he literally straight up debunked Te himself in the quotes below, I think that he definitely lets his ethical perception get the better of him, expressing rational judgment in a very emotionally expressive way, which is why the Pathos mechanism is introduced. His Ni is prevalent, he is able to see things that others cannot see and strives to explore the unconscious mind of a "fictional killer," "Knowing 'how' is only half the struggle. Now we need to figure out 'why.'" - Wolfgang during the trial. And do you know why he's saying this? It's clear that he values what is "good and bad" (Jx function) a little more than what is "real" or "what could be" (Px function) especially since the thing he was so upset about was the MOTIVE, in order to try and JUSTIFY FEELINGS all for the sake of justice. **SPOILERS FOR PROLOGUE** For further evidence on the sx1 argument, here is Wolfgang's breakdown where he listens to absolutely nobody, his judgement clouded by his idealism. Anger is expressed, and Wolfgang refuses to consider Wenona's argument of self defense because he strictly believes murder cannot be justified. He does not sugarcoat his feelings, for the wolf came out of its sheep disguise. "28 stab wounds! No girl — no person — should ever suffer Cara's fate!" "It was the victim's name! Didn't anyone read the tablet!?" - Wolfgang to Jett when he asked an ignorant question. "Do you turn in a half-finished exam Wenona? An essay without its conclusion?" "This isn't about efficiency. This is about being right. Or do you — a supposed entrepreneur — not value integrity?" - This is the evidence that highlights his priority of Ti > Te, Wolfgang's Fe dom versus Wenona's Te dom. "That's wrong... There's no way this was done in self-defense..." "No matter what excuse the killer uses, it doesn't change the fact they have blood on their hands..." - This makes you wonder how he would handle something like Tozu described at the end, murder for the greater good, or murder for survival. Very unhealthy, black and white Fe. "Silence! I won't allow this!" - He assumes a position of power over the debate that is SO emotionally charged. "You expect me to stay calm? This was the sadistic killing of one of humanity's brightest!" "The killer, dead or alive... deserves to be brought to justice!" He is especially critical when Wenona challenges his ideals because he's so blinded by his own sense of morality. He projects his ideals onto other people, which is exactly what so1 does. Again, even though it's easy to type him sp1 because of his inherent kindness (which is not tied to any resentment whatsoever and therefore is not correlated with his e1), he does not prioritize SELF-criticality as much as OTHER-criticality, indicative of both Fe dominant and so/sx 1. His anger doesn't tie back to him being a perfect person, but his desire to perfect others. Thank you for reading! Please feel free to post your arguments, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
