Finally watched s2. Her inferior Fi and Anthony's inferior Fi is the main plot of their drama. Kate is also a Te dom rather than an Ni dom. She's more like —" I have a plan and this is how I shall execute this bc it looks more feasible/probable as I observed" — Te over Ni, almost similar with Anthony's Te-Si (his Te is based on empirical data he gathered, Kate's more theoretical in approach). She used her Ni for planning but her approach mainly focuses on execution — more straightforward, aggressive even. Also, throughout the season, the two of them are repressing their Fi. "My feelings are of no concern" (Anthony), "what I want does not matter" (Kate). But their actions speaks out so much of their desires it's funny af. edit: I saw a LOT of arguments typing her as INTJ bc she's a "big-picture planner" — well, congratulations that's Te and Ni for you. Now can anyone provide why she's more of an Ni user than Te user rather than list their personalities. I'm gonna add this argument: (Ni) "introverted intuition is used to look at patterns, meanings, and possibilities. Rather than simply looking at the concrete facts, they are more interested in what these facts mean." (Te) "Te users take the objective logic and facts that they have learned and apply it to their external world, and the external world of those around them. This forms the basis for all their decisions. As a result of extraverting logic, Te users are very much concerned with order and efficiency." it's true that kate sees the greater picture of things/possibilities especially for her sister, it's the Ni in her stack that supports that plan into execution which she is VERY much obsessed with. She does not perceive first before presenting a fact, she takes facts before perceiving it. (Te is judging, Ni is perceiving). This is evident when she starts disliking Anthony upon eavesdropping, not immediately before they met while horse riding. this is how her Te-Ni manifested: PROBLEM: their family is on the edge of financial downfall. Te (leading): Segmenting, organizing for efficiency, and systematizing. when in action: Legitimizing their family back to the English high society by organizing all of edwina's engagement and marriage both for her sister's happiness and their security (hitting 2 birds with one stone); Arranging the schedules of edwina's suitors, running thorough background checks. Ni (supporting): Foreseeing implications, transformations, and likely effects when in action: after overhearing Anthony, he became the biggest problem for kate even though he's the most eligible bachelor of high reputation. Her Ni knows that although Anthony is the fastest way to get rid of their financial problem as per her Te's swift judgment, her Ni balances this shortsightedness by recognizing patterns that Edwina might suffer ultimately and could possibly get divorced. Se (Relief) - Experiencing and acting in the immediate context.Extroverted sensing ignites courage to seize moments while they last. It urges us to act right instantly instead of staying idle in the what-ifs. when in action: Kate's destress/unwind by doing physical activities like hunting, horseback riding, etc. Se is her tert rather than inferior bc she uses it oftentimes to disconnect from her Te-Ni usage, she does not avoid it nor detest sensory pleasure, rather, she knows what activity she likes and she does do it. The Se tert is the reason why I don't think she's an INTJ. Se urges us to act right instantly instead of staying idle in the what-ifs, something an Ni user will not allow as they will most likely ponder thoroughly on details and planning. Fi(aspirational):Valuing and considering importance, beliefs, and worth Fi distracts Kate's focused and goal-driven nature as it tends to slow down her pace. Utilizing this inferior function feels like a waste of time as it do not accomplish her intended goal. So, she suppress it instead of just acknowledging it and working her plans around it. She always think of her goal and often mutters "What I want does not matter" to lady Danbury. one thing i notice about INTJ vs ENTJ, as their dom and aux function work closely, look at the tert+inf function instead. As INTJ are perceiving in nature, they will know and acknowledge their desires and values. ENTJ as judgers will consider this as weakness bc they cannot fit what they desire or what they value to what they should be doing.
