At first I voted ESTP because that's what I expected him to be on the surface. But I read the comments here and ENTP arguments won me over. The main difference I spot between Aventurine other ESTPs I know of (Childe, Chuuya, Seele etc.) is a difference in ambition. Whereas characters like Childe and Seele seem to "dedicate" their childhood traumas toward a hands-on cause, e.g. elite training to protect family/protecting the underground city, respectively, Aventurine's attitude toward his trauma—and his current status—is entirely different. How does his "gambling habit" / good luck present itself? I think, as a mask for his biggest insecurities. This is where I see Ne-dom instead of Se. I don't think the gambling/blitz would be so much just a facade in an Se-dom's lifestyle. Thinking of other ESTPs, they put a lot of their self-worth in these aesthetic things—as proof of their status and dedication, and the center of their ambitions—whereas Aven appears to use these things as just the mask to hide his past, his complexes, his fears. There is a difference of focus, which to me indicates an inferior Si instead of dom Se In fact I wouldn't be surprised if he's an ENTP in an Si-grip of existentialism, Not that only ENTPs can be existential, but I mean the nature of his existentialism in wanting to sacrifice himself for some ideal of "returning to his family", and to break his pattern of "good luck" that's kept him alive ... it sounds more Si-inf (paranoia about the system being broken) to me vs. Ni-inf (paranoia about ppl's motivations) Anyway, it's refreshing to see a character with such depth. Someone here said ESTP characters are often demonized in media. I personally haven't seen that, but I know for certain my typing of him isn't anything against ESTPs, in fact most of my fav chars are Se doms and it's what I expected when I first came to this page, too) So I hope anyone who reads this will understand I'm trying to be as objective as possible Well, at the end of the day he is a bunch of pixels. Whatever the consensus turns out to be I'll be happy bc he's such a well-written character anyway
