He may be a *social* introvert, but he seems to be a cognitive extrovert despite that, especially seeing as how his behavior under stress at normal levels includes him trying to please others (suggestive of Fe loop), which is likely in part how House clocked him as a former foster kid. That doesn't make him an Fe dom, though... Let's take Mirror Mirror for instance, which marks the SECOND time that he unwisely uses a defibrillator on a patient in cardiac arrest (first while in an oxygen chamber, and this time on the guy's wet skin). I would first like to note that this immediately excludes the possibility that he has good Si, ruling out ESFJ, on account of this being an error in judgement that would otherwise not be repeated- also showing that his Ti is subservient to extroverted Percieving. The speed with which he runs to use it without seeming to consider the *practical* implications, however, is what makes it obvious that he is Ne dom with inf Si. Supporting this, in the same episode we get to see him interacting alone with the patient, who presents with an uncanny ability to read other people as well as imitating them as a neurological symptom. The following is dialogue from this exchange, starting with a line Lawrence says to the patient: "I just like experience. If it's new, it's interesting." "Yeah? Not me. I don't just LIKE new, I gotta HAVE new. If it's not there, I *make* it there." "...Really, I'm just easily bored." "There are 300 million people in this country. If I'm doing exactly what everyone else is doing, then who the hell am I- Y'know what I mean?" Kutner is visibly perturbed by the accuracy of this last statement and quickly changes the subject. It bears mentioning that this indicates that if true, then dom Ne is of what his core sense of identity comprises, which creates a VERY nice segue into... Fi blind spot seems likely for him. Note how it didn't occur to him on his own to apologize to an old classmate for bullying him in Joy To The World (behavior not unheard of coming from a troubled Ne dom, in all honesty) until *after* he is tasked with treating a teenaged patient who was victim to bullying and suffered many ill effects of it before dying- it's from seeing the wide-spanning impact it had on her physical and mental health that he gains the knowledge he needs to make things right (Ti compensation for Fi PoLR), and chooses to do so promptly. He also willingly discards the indian surname he was given at birth in favor of that of his adoptive parents, instead of identifying with the way his family history made him feel like an outsider. As a matter of fact... The ambivalence and lack of insight into his own emotions and preferences associated with the Fi trickster function serves as a pretty solid Watsonian explanation for the other characters not seeing his death coming- he is unaware of how he feels about things and is thus unable to express it to others, meaning that he could easily find himself in crisis without anyone around him being any the wiser. Some food for thought, in any case...
