Uhtred of Bebbanburg is the protagonist in both The Saxon Tales novel series, and The Last Kingdom television series. Over the course of the series, Uhtred, who was born of Saxon nobility but raised a Dane, has become increasingly complex in his loyalty and general attitude. A natural warrior, he is a leader of men, fearless, instinctive, and driven by a deep seated need to reclaim his ancestral lands of Bebbanburg.
