this mf is the literal archetype of an ISTJ nerd with glasses and bow tie who is the teacher's pet. His Ne inferior is SO obvious, like when he never gets the other kid's jokes or how he likes to follow the rules of Mr. Krupp without ever questioning them. I can't see any inch of Ti-Fe on him, and no, wanting to be praised as a life goal isn't Fe, it's just his materialistic Te showing up, and it may even be a 3 fix on his tritype. I mean... no... when??? How???? Melvin is supposed to be the absolute opposite of George and Harold, which are Ne doms: kids with a vivid imagination, original and innovative thoughts, with random and unusual ideas. So then Melvin MUST be the opposite of Ne: Si. He is like the pure nemesis of George and Harold's creativity. He likes to do things as they always have been, to follow the system that always has been there and to serve to the authority (Si). He is always dreaming of getting the praise he thinks he deserves for his inventions, because he thinks that they are objectively good (Si-Te), and although he may be right, NOBODY likes them because they are just SO boring and predictable and have absolutely no charm. He isn't capable of thinking about inventing something more original or inspired because of his Ne inferior. Idk, as an INTP, i feel very weirded out because of the existence of this debate... I could go all day long talking about how his functions have nothing tondo with an INTP's. He is a textbook stereotypical ISTJ.

He is the son of the recipient of "The Most Brilliantest Science Guy of the Whole Wide World Award", Gaylord M. Sneedly, and his wife. He is a tattle tale, which is a source of irritation to other pupils. Melvin was briefly the Bionic Booger Boy as the result of a failed experiment. He is the villain protagonist turned anti hero of the novels and the (former) secondary antagonist of the movie.
