No mean to persuade anyone, this comment is just to clarify some of my opinions. Shu is a vivid character in this production, which is why the audience has different views. ISTP, led by Ti, is more inclined to "should or should not" than "want to or not" when considering issues. In some other comments, it was mentioned that Shu did not give exact reasons when he did certain actions. My opinion in this regard is that one may not need a specific reason to just go around in the garden (or other things which is not so important). One could think of this as an embodiment of Fi, i.e., doing things by desire, but the functions of Fi and Ti are not entirely contradictory. Depending on the specific occasion and the personal experience, one makes different judgments. The following was written based on the text of the game. In Grand Edition 1, the root cause of his absent from the classes is actually stated: the influence of childhood trauma and Reiji's mental pressure on him caused him not to want to get involved in the conflict between his brothers. This may be the result of a natural logical judgment. In Grand Edition 1 and 2 (More Blood) chapters, Reiji's comment about him is mentioned: Shu always looked as if he see through and understand everything (which can be interpreted as him having basic logical judgment). In the their recollections, Reiji provoked Shu several times, but Shu did not let it get to his head. After realized that his important violin was damaged (at this point Shu's text implies that he thought it might have been Reiji who broke his violin), even though he was extremely depressed, he did not act aggressively. I think this is the result of Ti's logic based on the pros and cons. In Chaos Lineage chapter 14-15, after defeating Kino, Ayato/Laito/Kanato thought they should kill Kino to take revenge (because Kino caused Shu to be seriously injured), but Shu's answer is "there is no need to do so, it is not reasonable to kill him now, he is currently in line with our stance. " As the most seriously injured person in the confrontation with Kino, such a statement at this point reflects his Ti, that is, he decided whether to kill Kino based on logical judgment, rather than based on emotional judgment as the other three guys. Generally speaking, Fi and Ti have another important external characteristic. When discussing things, Fi shows more self-centered from one's own feelings, while Ti is more inclined to discuss the things themselves. In the Chaos Lineage chapter, when mentioning topics like the one about the Plan of Eden (and many more), Shu does not start with his own feelings, but only describes the situation objectively. This shows that Shu is not capricious when it comes to important matters. He is able to distinguish the level of importance of things and respond with different strategies.
