Sx6 is not type 8/gut type light. Sx6s may be more reckless and prone to using their “fight” rather then “flight” instinct when confronted with their fears compared to other type 6s, but they are still type 6. Sx6 is a head type with a skeptical nature and a focus on systems of logic, even if they present more aggressively. None of that fits Ruby. Ruby is one of the most illogical, emotionally driven, reactive characters in the show. Where’s the type 6 skepticism? Where’s her focus on finding and maintaining logical systems? Sx6’s often have trouble with intimacy, because their fear of the world and deep rooted skepticism makes it difficult for them to trust, Ruby practically throws herself at Sapphire! She rebels against the entire gem empire for a girl she barley knows the first chance she gets! People arguing that Rubys’s a Sx6 because she “freaks out when her source of safety (Sapphire) gets separated from her” are forgetting the context of that scene. Ruby panics when her and Sapphire separate because they were fused for YEARS and then were forced apart and imprisoned on a enemy space ship, ANYONE would be freaked out in that situation. Type 8s are not all stone-faced Chads. They can in fact fear for their loved ones and show vulnerability like anyone else. This idea that every type 8 that shows a bit of emotional depth is actually a secret sx6 annoys the hell out of me and needs to stop. It’s insulting to both types. Edit:If ANYTHING I would expect the debate on this page to be Between type 8 and 9 given there both gut types (and contrary to popular opinion not all type 9s are push overs) instead we have this cursed sx6 consensus.
