saheon analysis! argument on sp8 > sx6 baek saheon okayyy hi this is my first ever pdb analysis! trying to debunk sx6 bsh claims. up to ch 372 spoilers! (forgive for any errors because i'm not /too/ into typology, feedback is always welcome!) ARGUMENT 1: head vs gut triad - saheon it is obvious on close readings that saheon does not rely on analytical thinking or logical deduction (E6) - instead he simply follows his instincts (E8). if he does then it's a quick mental calculation, enough to get his body going chapter 317: "baek saheon's eyes flashed with fear, anger, survival instinct, and a sense of relief that he'd made it... then settled down into rational calculation." bsh's mind automatically turns to his gut instincts whenever a source of danger arrives. mental calculation typical of the head triad appears only when he thinks of resorting to it AFTER the former. you can further see how easily bsh disregards the use of logic in ch323, when he dismisses his line of reasoning with "whatever i survived anyways", there is a sense that his physical safety overrides the need for mental deductions. you also see this in the same chapter when he kicks the man to take his camcorder without second guessing, unlike E6 incarnate kse who (well besides from just being a decent man TM) recognised from internal deductions that bsh didn't really need to do all of that. another point to be made, saheon is generally just extremely out of touch with himself, atypical of the head triad which is involved with oneself and its own thinking. in 317, soleum notes that saheon quite literally does not know anything about himself, nor does saheon himself care about his lack of an inner world (...to the extent that he just doesn't think about why he needs the wish ticket anymore). this is further evidenced by 201 (or whenever saheon left the village), the excerpts evidently show how out of touch he is with what he was feeling at the time, because he was simply acting upon gut instincts. 201: "just now, a tremendous crash had sounded behind him. maybe something even worse was happening in the village…'fuck, is this the time to be thinking about that?' gritting his teeth, he forced himself to keep moving.” ignorance of mental deductions and reasonings, priority in simply moving along physically. kse E6 incarnate does this too, but even when he's physically on the run he still anticipates and deduces for his next action. here, saheon does not think or plan heavily about the next course of action, he just runs down the mountain path. 201: "a strange feeling stirred inside him...people called it a sense of fulfillment, that must have been why...” again, out of touch with his inner world, unable to pinpoint anything within it and second-guesses it himself ARGUMENT 2: E6 vs E8 - saheon it is so, so understandable on why saheon has so many sx6 votes. sx6 is very similar to saheon - the fear of vulnerability, the danger of feeling one's own impotence - all of saheon's actions work to ensure that he is never weak. but note that it is his /actions/ that serve to meet these ends. i want to first touch on E6 vs E8 with some sprinkle of sx6, before doing a more comprehensive guide. this leads into argument 1, so feel free to skip: - note that sx6 uses the image of strength to override the fear of danger, sp8 uses the image of strength to override the fear of being vulnerable. it is easy to see how these two can be mistaken. E8's too fear being controlled, deceived or betrayed. - but sx6's lead with the head triad, they ultimately lie with the "i think, therefore i do" mindset, they're paranoid, they expose themselves to danger with a thought that analyses and anticipates the threat's behaviour. on the other hand, E8's lead with the gut triad, they are pragmatic, focused on reality, they are so absorbed in the physical world that they blatantly dismiss their deeper emotions. okay, with that out of the way. here's the meat of the argument! ARGUMENT 3: SX6 vs SP8 - saheon there are going to be sections i miss, because.....well, enneagram is a /lot/. so let me know if i missed anything crucial 😊! against SX6 the sx6’s cynical nature - expression of such | sx6’s tend to express their insecurities via irony, sarcasm and criticism - the drive behind this is to prove oneself. sx6’s want to prove that they can emerge from situations unscathed; they are superior to the threat at hand. → sx6’s are driven by insecurity of ones lack of power and want to thus prove themselves. | yes, saheon is cynical by nature. ch201, he wishes for everyone in jisan village to die - his narrative is full of cynicism and hatred for the outer world. however, saheon does not express this outwardly as the sx6 does with the motive that the sx6 has.
