If he were any 8 at all, he'd be of the social variant, but even then, he doesn't fit the 8 core, trait structure, defense mechanisms, etc. at all. Kamina is far too optimistic, trusting, social, and idealistic to be any kind of 8. How does the passion for lust/excess manifest in Kamina? Kamina is very clearly a head type, not a gut type. Kamina's fear of being deprived by the world is greater than his anger at injustices or wrongs; he doesn't leave that hole in the ground because he believes he has been wronged and now needs to take back control, he simply was fed up and tired of the people around him trying to hold him back from seeing the sky, afraid that he may rot in that hole without knowing what the world has to offer him.
