Everyone wants to be unique, everyone wants to be special. What's interesting about this attitude is that it's not. it's using the separation of gender norms as your identity instead of finding your own. Which this could be a way to carve out a Identity for your own, which is fine. Everyone has a phase they go through. If the traditional feminine color is pink then this person in the most stereotypical form will like blue. I think this type of thinking forms when the person is young and is demonized for breaking traditional gender norms. Such as watching masculine oriented cartoons. The person instead allowed to indulge in their impulses, instead repressed their desires. In which manifest as misogyny in later teens as they are taught at a early age that their gender prevents them doing what they enjoy. The person now demonizes femininity, and traditional feminine actions, as a way to gain freedom from those roles. This is an unhealthy way of thinking, as it's less thinking and more of repressed emotional issue and discontent from someone's gender. I'm not saying people should act in according to gender roles, most people don't and that's a good thing. People instead need to find uniqueness not in response to trauma. Uniqueness comes in silence not response.

On the surface, it's nice to hear someone say you're special. It's flattering to the ego to hear that you're better than the competition. However it's meant, this line can be interpreted as a backhanded or even outright condescending. By saying that your intelligence, sense of humor, chastity, lack of interest in makeup, independence, or whatever make you "different from other girls," it's implied that your gender is inferior by default. A more tactful person may ease the blow to feminism by saying she's different from other girls she knows.
