I love John so much, he reminds me of the truly good and beautiful side of Fi and all the amazing things INFPs have the potential to create. The opening lines of his gospel are so memorable, so unique, healthy Fi-Ne at its finest. I think there are enough arguments for him being an INFP, I just want to point something out: I once read that Jesus’ disciples must have been younger than him, since that was the norm for Jewish rabbis and their followers. John, being the youngest, was probably still a teenager. It makes sense that he was a Fi dom - despite his young age he was incredibly devoted and attached to Jesus, being the only disciple to actually stay by His side during the crucifixion. We often talk about the individualistic and tumultuous side of Fi - and we’ve seen this with John, no wonder he and James were called the Sons of Thunder - but he also made me think of how truly devotional Fi can be when it is attached to a person or an idea. I can’t imagine how difficult and painful it must’ve been for John, a literal adolescent at the time, to witness the torture and death of the one person who was like a guiding light to his Fi. True, he was also there for Jesus’ Resurrection, but none of the disciples really knew or understood the bigger picture yet. You can’t help but admire their unwavering strength in the face of the unknown and the persecution that was awaiting them. I’m rambling at this point but I just wanted to say it, there’s a ton of strength in well-developed Fi and rare beauty in Ne, John’s a prime example of that. :)
سيرة شخصية
John the Apostle (Aramaic: ܝܘܚܢܢ ܫܠܝܚܐ, Yohanān Shliḥā; Hebrew: יוחנן בן זבדי, Yohanan ben Zavdi; Ancient Greek: Ἰωάννης; Coptic: ⲓⲱⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ or ⲓⲱ̅ⲁ; Latin: Ioannes; c. 6 AD – c. 100 AD) was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus according to the New Testament. Generally listed as the youngest apostle, he was the son of Zebedee and Salome. His brother was James, who was another of the Twelve Apostles. The Church Fathers identify him as John the Evangelist, John of Patmos, John the Elder and the Beloved Disciple, and testify that he outlived the remaining apostles and that he was the only one to die of natural causes. The traditions of most Christian denominations have held that John the Apostle is the author of several books of the New Testament.
