Butch نوع شخصية MBTI
شخصية
"ما نوع الشخصية Butch؟ Butch هو نوع ESTP في mbti ، 8w7 - sx/sp - 874 في enneagram ، SLUEN في Big 5 ، SLI في Socionics."
This is one of those characters who makes me wonder if every PPG character has a personality reference, because I’m not sure if his lack of presence compared to his brothers was intentional. But there do seem to be hints that this is a genuine part of his personality, so let’s take a look… My main focus here is his enneagram, so I’ll make the MBTI part short. I don’t think he has inferior Fe—most of his lines and actions, if you actually observe him, involve him aligning with his brothers’ interests and values. Since he’s shown to be bad at drawing connections (being unprepared for Buttercup retaliating when he bullies Bubbles), I think he’s just a relatively laconic ESTP, a quiet-ish person with imbalanced Se-Ni and fairly balanced Ti-Fe.* As for enneagram, I don’t see E8 for him. For example, “Bubble Boy” highlights how much of a yes-man he is for Brick, which contradicts the attitude of a lustful, life-conquering E8. Brick proposes some banal activity (“Who can spit down that plane?”), and Butch’s reaction is an enthusiastic “I can! I can!” Imagine Buttercup, textbook 8w7, reacting to that (“No one tells me when to come.”) or Brick himself. It’s hard to imagine them being so excited to jump through others’ hoops, right? So, I don’t think control or vulnerability is Butch’s neurosis like theirs. Plus, look at him laying stupefied after he gets hit by Bubbles’s spitball. He kind of looks mad, with a dazed expression, but he isn’t doing anything about it. Looks like suppression of anger (or even just a vagueness about it) à la E9 to me, not the defiance of a provoked E8. In general, I think Butch shows a lot more conformist behavior than most give him credit for. Even in TBABIT, when he’s acting bizarre, one may note that he never poses a problem for Brick. He literally acts silly on Brick’s cue in that episode. Does an E8 take action only when their leader looks at them—and what’s more, puts on a show? I don’t think so. We even learn that he polices others’ behavior to ensure conformity in “Bubble Boy,” when he calls out to Boomer, “And make sure you steal it!” in reference to candy, a trait of sx9 that is otherwise left unexplained: “The Sexual 9 learns in a completely cognitive way what is ‘right’ or ‘should be done’ in each specific circumstance. […] This leads others to perceive the Sexual 9’s behavior as ‘false’ and possibly exaggerated since they are acting out a learned script, performing their role like an actor in a movie, rather than expressing their genuine feelings” (Naranjo E9 book). In addition, Butch punching his hand when “Boomer” graffitiis about flowers not only shows alignment to Brick’s will, but hostility towards socially disruptive behavior in his immediate group, like his question to Brick as to whether he can believe Boomer is their brother. This is actually the only time we see Butch showing aggression unrelated to the PPG (Boomer slams some poor kid for candy, Brick slaps a guy at a vending machine, Butch… does nothing himself), and it’s not even full aggression, but an implied threat that he drops once “Boomer” gets back in line. From that and him referring to Boomer “getting girly on ‘us,’” it again seems like his main fixation is harmony, not vulnerability. In particular, the level to which he physically and verbally synchronizes with Brick becomes unnerving in “Bubble Boy.” You may pay attention to his exact behavior to see what I mean… This is not a character who tends to follow his own path: “The Sexual 9 learns to feel loved by merging entirely with the vision of the other, annulling themselves in the process. This self-forgetfulness begins early and leads them to live a life that is not truly theirs. Initially, everything they choose and do is influenced by what one of their parents likes. As a result, preferences in school, sports, interests, and even political views are adopted through fusion with the parent. The mother or father becomes a false guide for their growth. The Sexual 9 does many things to please as a way of showing love, but, in other matters, they may take an opposite path to the parent’s influence” (ibid). Butch possesses the high energy of E7 (but only situationally), the conformity of E6 (although he isn’t “alert”–see what Buttercup did at the end of TBABIT), and seemingly even less independent mental activity than E8. I think that all indicates gut triad -> E9 -> sx9, although I’ll admit he’s not a textbook case of this subtype. (However, Sx9 is a gut type, just like E8… Perhaps Butch can show exactly what this looks like. You may also see the sx9 autobiography in Naranjo’s 27 Personalities in Search of Being for an example of an sx9 who does not fit the typical image of the timid rule-follower.) Butch has… Jyushimatsu syndrome (high energy E9), but on the sx side. If you doubt, please pay attention to his actual behavior and lines. I hope you will see what I mean then. *Changed my mind; I think he’s Se-Fe now. Explained in a reply.
