How is this an INFJ thing? Just look at previous comments by INFJs. Both INFJs and ENFJs (as a result of their Ni-Fe ego) look instead at the potential in other people (their ideal self or best version) and try to help them materialize it. This implies the assumption that things aren't optimal yet. "You are good as you are" is what my ENFP girlfriend tells me, or what some INFP friends have suggested quite a few times. It implies, I believe, empathizing with the victim, the helpless, the underdog (Fi) and not trying to impose anything on anyone (so no Se). It's basically accepting and respecting other people's life decisions without judging or influencing them. That's essentially what xNFPs excel at.
