I think 8w9 makes more sense than 8w7, since his goals involved taking over the three realms for the stability and growth of the Moon Tribe. Yes, he can be ruthless and have a temper toward people that he despises, but he is quite fair in his political dealings and is extremely loyal to the goal of bringing his kingdom to prosperity. Leading his kingdom comes first, destroying the fairy realm comes second. He can be persuaded to bypass his temper through external logic, which leads him to not be as impulsive as a 7 and less reactive. He doesn't need to do anything, can just stand there, and will still come through as intimidating due to his intense presence, which is very 8w9-like, as they are known to exude a lot of quiet and unspoken power compared to 8w7. Yes, he has a lot of Se moments that look like an 8w7, but don't we all exhibit traits from both of our wings at times? I still think he has a slight preference toward 9 than 7. EXTJ 8w9 can come off to others like an introvert, which would explain why it seems like he could be an INTJ on the surface if we ignore the functions.
