What personality type is Souya Gomi? Souya Gomi is an ENFP personality type in MBTI, 5w4 - - in Enneagram, in Big 5, SEE in Socionics.
It's a bit unfortunate that his personality gets reduced to, "I love my wife!" But I think chapter 1 is the one and only chapter we get to really see his personality outside of his immense love for Yuuka, and it seems to hone in on so 5 motivations. They aspire to be a person "high on the totem pole" just like the heros they look up to and be the person people come to for their specialized knowledge. In chapter 1, we see Souya trying to impress his boss with his advice and knowledge: "Chief if women are the main target, I think this would appeal to them more than hearts as of late!" When his chief expresses disproval, he pushes back and says, "But I believe that this design would benefit our marketing strategy more if we want sales to go up!" We then get this internal monologue from Souya that is essentially the so 5 motivation: "It's been five years since I've joined the City Sweets Manufacturing's design team after graduating from the local art school. My days here have only been passing by with an unfair exchange of my time with a pittance of pay...Haah... I just can't see the sales getting any better here (note: he says while looking at the heart flyer)... What am I doing with my life..There's only been one thing I've realized since becoming an adult in society. ***There's nothing I can especially do that makes me stand out. The one thing I'm hoping for is to do something that anyone can do, but do it better.*** It's easy enough to be honest with my answer. But I still can't give up just yet. Well, whatever! I always have someone who wipes away all my gloom in an instant! And that person is... my darling wife!" He goes home and when Yuuka says she wants an ottoman, he poses and says, "The hero who protects the peace of the world and his household Otto(husband)man!" After making her laugh, Souya then tells her he's thinking of quitting his job. Imo, Souya's desire to stand out with specialized knowledge and rise up in the social hierchy is absolutely so 5. Because his job doesnt fufill that need for him he tells Yuuka that he's thinking of quitting. Sx aux is obvious due to his absolutely powerful love for his wife and how she means the whole world to him. In later chapters, when Yuuka cheers him on and praises him to power him up, we also see through her comments he's done various tasks for her in order to seem competent, which also falls in line with E5. I just wish we got to see more of his personality fleshed out more after chapter 1. For his MBTI, I don't see inf Te (judging function that uses heuristics/generalizations/inductive reasoning to determine if something is valid or invalid) in Souya. He doesn't have an issue with it. Ne dom/divergent thinking also makes sense, so I see ENFP > INFP. There's also absolutely no way Souya isn't an Fi (personal values; rigid and consistent ethics) user.
