What personality type is Jesse James? Jesse James is an INFJ personality type in MBTI, 8w9 - - 684 in Enneagram, RLOEI in Big 5, EIE in Socionics.
I understand to some extent why people might see Jesse as an ISTP, especially more towards the start of the film, but I think INFJ is by far more likely. The whole film just exudes an INFJ atmosphere, especially surrounding him. It seems to me that he is stuck in an Ni-Ti loop for most of the film, so we see a lot of Ti. I can’t really see him as inferior Fe either, he is good at fitting in and exerting a certain coverup persona (a very ISTP like persona). He also often uses his Fe to manipulate people and get what he wants. I think his auxiliary Fe is just overshadowed by his strong Ti, especially when he falls further into the loop. Looking at the types as a whole, Jesse definitely has a deep emotional side more stereotypically akin to an INFJ that he is trying to conceal. Considering the time and place of the story as well, he seems to fit how I would imagine an unhealthy INFJ of such a context, far more so than an ISTP.
