Personality

What personality type is Karate? Karate is an ISTJ personality type in MBTI, 1w9 - sp/so - 154 in Enneagram, RCOAI in Big 5, LSI in Socionics.

I will talk about only Kyokushin Karate, since it's the only one I have experience with. Dominant Si: Obvious. Very, very traditional, focuses a lot on honor, respect and duty (At least if you're not in a trash McDojo). You have to learn the techniques and katas very accurately, in the form it was originally created. You can't modify the moves and you're not allowed to mix it with other martial arts. Auxiliary Te: It is structured very nicely, like the pyramid. It's separate parts compliment each other very well. The basis, the floor is the kyhon (uchi waza and keri waza). Everything is builded on the basic techniques, first you learn them, then you go higher, to the more difficult elements, the katas and finally the kumite. Also, everything happens very efficiently, result orientedly, without any unnecessary moves. Relief Fi: It places a lot of value to certain things. Kyokushin isn't only a completeness of the body but also of the mind. Which requires controlled feelings and values. Inferior Ne: I've already covered that, simplified it's original and familiar form over creativity.
