Yugi Amane "Hanako" MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Yugi Amane "Hanako"? Yugi Amane "Hanako" is an ENTP personality type in MBTI, 7w6 - so/sx - 729 in Enneagram, SCUEI in Big 5, ILE in Socionics.

Hanako is a real tough one, not only is he quite different in the manga because the anime was more lighthearted and short, but his story isn’t even fully complete in the manga yet, so I can’t say for certain that I have fully figured him out. I want to say he an obvious ENTP, he certainly acts like one. But there’s a voice in my head convincing me that he’s just a very lonely and unhealthy ENFP, and I think it actually makes more sense. (MANGA SPOILERS) all of his actions to save Nene were decisions he made entirely at his own discretion and sometimes at the cost of others, all because he wanted to have a personal impact on Nene’s life before she dies. Clearly his personal emotions have a large and a bit misguided effect on his actions. This could be a result of using Ti and inwardly thinking for ways to make himself feel better about Nene dying, but then that wouldn’t make sense with Fe. How could he possibly carry out the thought processes that he does if he handled his emotions outwardly? If anything the most introverted thing about him is the way he deals with emotions, constantly acting on them yet never talking about them. That reads a lot more Fi. And it makes sense that way with Te too, outwardly strategizing and doing while inwardly making decisions with a not-so-well-developed Fi. Of course I’m open to the idea of an ENTP Hanako but I haven’t really seen anyone give a real explanation of how he uses Ti-Fe rather than Fi-Te ***EDIT, I SEE IT NOW*** Oh my gosh, I’ve been mistaking an Fe user’s emotional suicide for Fi. I feel so awful for him. After a lot more thinking and writing things out, it made me realize that what Hanako is doing to himself isn’t a sign of Fi at all. If I remember correctly, Teru described him as someone who sees himself as some sort of martyr, thinking that as long as he can do something for the person he loves, it really doesn’t matter what happens to him. Hanako himself said that he’s self-serving, that he’s only trying to save Nene’s life to make himself feel better. That’s how he sees this whole thing, and that’s how he sees himself: selfish. He thinks he’s selfish for wanting to save her. Why? Why would he go that strange and demeaning train of thought? That’s when I realized that Hanako just *really* hates himself. I think I sort of saw it before but I hadn’t understood it; he thinks that he deserves to be lonely, to not have the love of others, and to not have friends. Of course he cares deeply for his friends, but he can only view that love as him being self absorbed. The only way he knows how to act on the care he has is by completely sacrificing for them. As long as what he cares about is safe, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter what people think of him, it doesn’t matter if he betrays his friends or let’s a child die, and it doesn’t even matter if Nene herself hates him for it. That’s his sacrifice. His sacrifice for Nene is the validation of others. He’s an Fe user, wired to look outwardly for his handling of emotions, but he’s so beaten up that he’s using it in the most unhealthy way possible. It’s what he values, so he gives it up because of self loathing. He obviously doesn’t have a healthy relationship with himself, I mean we don’t know the story behind his suicide but I think that’s a big indicator that something is terribly wrong here. and this is it. This completely self-sabotaging behavior. The fact that he throws away the things that he needs because he doesn’t think he’s worthy of it. Because at least it won’t matter if he can still save Nene’s life. Because as long as she’s happy he feels that he did something worthwhile for someone that he cares deeply about. Even if that means she ends up hating him, because that’s what he deserves anyway. God I feel like I can finally understand him now and I just want to give him a big hug and tell him it’s ok. Ahhhhhh
