Scotty Smalls MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Scotty Smalls? Scotty Smalls is an INTP personality type in MBTI, 6w7 - sp/so - 692 in Enneagram, RLUAI in Big 5, in Socionics.

I don't see him as being an ISFJ. He definitely seems like a Ti dominant with how he keeps to himself and is socially inept. This is a stereotype of INTPs but not an unfounded one. The reason INTPs are depicted as shy is because they're used to operating under their own reason (Dominant Ti). So much so, that interacting with others and operating within a social construct is completely foreign and a source of anxiety. As a result, plenty of INTPs withdraw back into their own inner world built around their Dominant Ti. Sometimes, Ti Dominants reject the usage of Fe altogether and this can cause them to tread on people's toes and come across as disrespectful. ISFJs tend to be shy because they fear doing something wrong or upsetting social harmony (also an Enneagram 6 trait), while INTPs tend to be shy because they fear rejection. Ti Dominants operate in their own world which is their cognitive safe space and the center of their identity, to be scorned for behaving within it is devasting to them. Also, INTPs can be very disciplined. Just because they utilize Auxilary Ne doesn't mean they're unstructured or scatterbrained. It just means that they find fulfillment in reviewing and engaging with different ideas, concepts, and experiences. Healthy INTPs are very down-to-earth and meticulous with how they think.

Biography

Scott Smalls, simply called "Smalls" by the other kids, is a boy who moved to suburban Los Angeles in 1962 with his mother and his new step-father. The crux of the first half of the film is him trying to fit in with the kids of his new neighborhood. Taken under the wing of Benny, he finds a new passion for baseball. It is his mistake of unwittingly using a ball signed by Babe Ruth (which belonged to his step-father) that drives the second half of the film. An adult Smalls also serves as The Narrator of the film, and is revealed in the "Where Are They Now?" Epilogue to be a radio commentator for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
