What personality type is Antonio Salieri? Antonio Salieri is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 4w3 - sx/sp - 416 in Enneagram, RLOEI in Big 5, EIE in Socionics.
A while back I said I believed Salieri wasn’t a 4, but now I’m not so sure after reading the play. In the play, he absolutely seems like a 4. In the movie though, I still see 3 because of the following reasons: First, the progression of the 3 (falling into delusional jealousy, doing ANYTHING it takes to assert their own superiority, becoming overly competitive), second, that Salieri wanted fame, not significance or to understand himself or his identity, but when his fame ran out he had nothing, so he resorts to another way of getting attention - claiming he killed Mozart using cunning (again, he wants to assert his superiority, to win), and third, for that fact that jealousy itself doesn’t automatically make a 4. The jealousy of a 4 is one where they envy others who live normally, they feel different from others and so they both love and hate their strangeness. Salieri, at no point, seems to think or claims he is different, nor envies people he believes are "normal." Instead, he envies that Mozart is better than him. Anywho, just my thoughts.
