Caligula MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Caligula? Caligula is an ESFP personality type in MBTI, 8w7 - sx/so - 863 in Enneagram, SLUEI in Big 5, in Socionics.

There's a good chance that Caligula was a psychopath, with both Antisocial and Narcissistic Personality Disorders. [Edit: The user below makes a good case for Borderline Personality Disorder rather than NPD. All three of these fall into the Cluster B category of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual.] Disorders like these tend to obscure someone's true cognitive type, because the most prominent parts of their personality are behavioral problems. Having said that, we can still identify patterns of consciousness apart from the disorders that can be used for a functional analysis. I'm guessing a lot of people have typed Caligula as an EN-P type based on the assumption that because he had 'crazy ideas', this must be some manifestation of Ne. The problem is, any type can have crazy ideas. For Ne types, the ideas would be the manifestation of some associative process whereby the Ne type sees objects as related in some way – one leading to the next. They see interconnectivity and transformation of idea. I don't see this process in descriptions of Caligula. I see a series of isolated incidents in which Caligula's need to connect with the raw, manifest elements of reality was indulged to its fullest extent – in other words, the process of an Se type. (Jung: "Sensation for [the Se type] is a concrete expression of life – it is simply real life lived to the full. His whole aim is concrete enjoyment, and his morality is oriented accordingly.") He wanted to distribute money? – Didn't take the efficient, organized bureaucratic route; instead gathered the largest possible crowd, climbed the highest building near them and flung piles of coins into the sea of humans. He wanted to dine fancy? – Spent 10 million sesterces on the most lavish dinner party possible, importing the rarest foods from around the known world. He constructed ambitious public works projects (his only good accomplishments); he built pleasure yachts the size of football fields; he imported a 300-ton giant stone obelisk from Egypt; he built a bridge out of sunken ships to march himself and a small army back and forth across a bay; etc.
