Personality

What personality type is Cronus / Kronos? Cronus / Kronos is an ESTJ personality type in MBTI, 8w7 - sp/sx - in Enneagram, SLOEN in Big 5, in Socionics.

Why 1w2? As far as I know, he didn't care much about morality or having a principled and appropiate conduct. He didn't have any intention of reforming the world and making it a better place according to his standards. He wasn't critical, self-righteous, perfectionistic or restrained, but ambitious, confident and power-hungry. His reason for overthrowing Uranus was simply because he hated being controlled and wanted power. That's why he ate his children and why he didn't free some of his siblings from Tartarus; he was scared of them overthrowing him and losing his power.

Biography

The youngest of the Titans born to Uranus and Gaea, Cronus was the ambitious one who attacked his father and then assumed the throne to become ruler of the universe. He couldn't have defeated Uranus without the aid of his mother Gaea, and she helped him only because he promised to free the progeny his father has hidden away in Tartarus. But Cronus went back on his promise and was cursed to suffer his father's fate. The father of the Greek gods, Cronus is no doting parent. When Gaea prophesied that one of his children would overthrow him as he had his father, Cronus proved just as despotic as Uranus. As his wife, Rhea, gave birth to the Olympian gods, he seized them and swallowed them up. His plan might have worked, had Rhea not tricked him into swallowing a stone instead of her sixth child. This god, Zeus, eventually returned to lead the successful revolt against him. Because of his past actions, Cronus was imprisoned in Tartarus.
