Hypno-shrooms mess with zombies' minds, usually mind controlling them to work for the plants, but are also capable of messing with their vision and overall movement. He appears to be one of the few plants to be sympathetic towards zombie enemies, asserting that they do not actively mean to do harm, but rather are misguided in their actions and aims to "bring them around to our way of thinking" through means of parasitism.
