What personality type is Giles? Giles is an ISTJ personality type in MBTI, 5w4 - sp/sx - in Enneagram, in Big 5, in Socionics.
Having listened to their diary style audiobook, I really feel Giles portrays mostly ISTJ tendencies. Si dominant because he is accutely guided to memories and past events that layers his perspective on himself today. Mary says something along the lines of Giles being permanently stuck in the 1970s, in his perspective of the world, technology and the rest. He also idolises all the behaviour of his father good and bad which i believe lead on to auxiliary Te in which his world logic is made up by what he experiences and what he has been told. He's referred to as a 'yuppy' once by his neighbour when having just moved in and continues to legitimately consider himself one (a young, up and coming, wannabe sort of person) even when the word is not used anymore and he does not fit that description at all. There are lots more examples but the diary gives a much more in depth portrayal than Gogglebox.
