What personality type is Dante? Dante is an ESTP personality type in MBTI, 8w7 - SP8 - 873 in Enneagram, SCUEI in Big 5, SLE in Socionics.
Walking SLE SP8. Lazy, demon hunting for his own pleasure and his own needs, he likes to play games and mock people. That doesn't make him SX8 or SEE anyway :D 1. Se (extraverted sensing) dominant: when this guy enters the environment he doesn't say "I'm here" but the environment already knows it's him. dante is physically active all the time. he's not afraid of beating up monsters, taking bullets, slicing things up with a sword. he doesn't care about danger, because he reflexes directly to what he sees with his eyes. no thinking, no analyzing, first you sense, then you punch. classic Se-hero. but not in a "let me entertain people" way like SEE, more in a "does this excite me? yes. then I'm in." way. example: you know those bar scenes, someone comes to get a job, says the classic "there is a demon problem", dante doesn't take it seriously, but with a word, with a provocation, with a "wow did you call me that" head, he directly gets up, takes his gun, goes to the scene. he doesn't think, he doesn't plan. this is direct Se. 2. Ti creative: he doesn't plan in detail, but he has a clear system in his head. if you ask him "why do you hunt demons?" he won't give you 8 pages of explanation. but he has a solid framework in his head of what's right and what's wrong. he makes decisions based on logic, not empathy. that's why he doesn't seem to be very close to people, but he has a line, and he won't be intimidated if it's crossed. he has set up his own system: the shop, the way he gets work, the contracts he makes, etc. but the system is minimalist. few rules, no complexity. he doesn't like to get involved and deal with details, but his principles are clear. Example: the vibe of "if you don't give me my money, I'll take you down too". but he doesn't do it by shouting, he does it very calmly and clearly. this is the cold logic of Ti. 3. Fi blindness (Fi-polr): weak emotional attachment, individual values take a back seat. He is not particularly attached to anyone. even with his brother there is no sense of extreme emotional attachment. There are no sentences like "I love you, brother", but he would do anything for her when necessary. this looks like "insensitive" from the outside, but in fact his criteria is external, not internal. he doesn't bond, he takes responsibility. even when he loves someone, he shows it with actions, not words. so his inner world is not very emotional, it works more like "I do this because it's the right thing to do". typical Fi-polar. 4. Ni is weak but aware: he has no vision of the future but he has a feeling. dante has no long term plans, he doesn't even care about tomorrow. he doesn't care if the shop is bankrupt, if the rent is unpaid. but sometimes he senses something intuitive like "if this demon gets out, things will get bigger" and reflexes accordingly. so Ni is not very strong, but when he steps in, he usually acts by sensing the "backstory" of an event. An example of this is the temporary but meaningful bonds he forms with some characters throughout the series - he understands their intentions, but he doesn't build long visions on it.
