Everything about JJ is such a 3 dude. I was watching his documentary and at the beginning straight away started talking about fear of failure, and that he wants to live up to a certain legacy. When he first started his channel, him and his parents stated how he put on a persona because he didn't think people would like JJ but would love KSI. enneagram 3 is all about putting on a mask of how you want others to perceive you. Not only that, but when he left his parents' house when they kept being against him pursuing YouTube, he felt they didn't love him. Deji: "he essentially felt like we didn't love him. so, he was like "okay, i have something to prove. I guess he used us as like a goal. being like okay, you don't love me? I'll make you love me." Dude, that in itself show be clear as day, trying to make his family love and admire him through his achievements. I was also reading up on 3s and the 3’s tendency to “split” themselves (on either side of ‘who I present myself as’ and ‘who I am’) makes it difficult for them to have authentic love experiences. The 3 can attract and seduce but feels an inner sense of emptiness. Romantic relationships are hard for a 3, who struggles to maintain a lasting emotional connection. And it really goes back to the whole KSI image that JJ has going on, and in the documentary, he literally talked about his struggle with his ex, stating she was trying to "change me back to the old me" in my opinion she wanted him to be himself and more authentic, and not the image he wanted to display. JJ: "Yeah, it just goes back to the whole KSI character. I feel like I'm in control of everything, like I can do whatever the fuck I want. and not to say anything bad about my ex but I definitely feel like she tried to bring me back to how I was before. now I'm just kinda.... I don't know i just feel more alpha." 3 has passionate concern for their image and in living for the eyes of others through a personality that “sells.” The constant focus is not on their own experiences, but in a fantasy-driven expectation of the experience of another in admiring them for it. The 3’s vanity comes from a combination of imaginative self-inflation and the desire to prove their value by actively implementing an ideal (modeled after someone ‘superior’) as their outer persona. This statement just goes along with what i was stating earlier, but seeing as most people keep voting 8 or 7, i have even more to bring to the table. JJ: "It's crazy, I'm literally going on dates every single day. I remember when I was younger, I wasn't even able to talk to girls. and I would google how to talk to women, and you know read books and stuff about understanding women, but that's just because I was this introverted, nerdy kid. I wanted to be seen as a man that is desirable." but wait, here's the real cherry on top. interviewer: "do you think you would get the same women if you weren't KSI and you were just JJ?" JJ: "definitely not, let's be honest. like, I'm a 6 out of 10 at best. but the money and the fame makes me an 11." He believes he is better because he is KSI, the persona he's made. not his true self, JJ. you can see though; in his life he went through an integration. 3's go into a 6, and he for sure did. "I did a lot of reflecting on the past and all the things that I've messed up on. When I created the KSI character, I wanted to be more like him. he was the alter ego that allowed me to be confident and believe I was bigger than I actually was. and i really didn't see the side effects until later on. I've realized that being KSI just slowly ruined the relationship between me and my family, for sure. I've kinda just have stepped back and gone, "okay, what's important in my life?" and I've realized that being close to the people closest to you is very important, and that's why i feel like familywise, I really needed to fix that." 3s can become TOO fixated on self, skills, achievements, to the point that they undermine their own well being. So thinking about this in terms of an RPG build is kind of limiting, because the point is to get to a place where you can see yourself as being more than just a set of skills and capabilities. and I think that's what JJ started to realize. Integrating to 6 provides your life with more meaning and richness. Instead of focusing only on your own advancement, you become part of something larger than yourself, using your ambition and work ethic to contribute to a larger community and help others. and that's what JJ started to do, especially with deji and his family.
