Nathaniel Hawthorne MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Nathaniel Hawthorne? Nathaniel Hawthorne is an INFJ personality type in MBTI, 9w1 - - 952 in Enneagram, RCOAI in Big 5, EII in Socionics.

1.) I don’t completely agree with their being a lot of Ni in Hawthorne’s work. I use to assume this because of the allegorical nature of his work, but I don’t think this rules out Ne. 2.) Too much emphasis should not be placed on Fe in regards to INFJs. They are best understood primarily as Ni/Ti types. Even when Fe is very notable, it is less important to them than their two introverted functions. Consider Plato here. Hawthorne strikes me as a primarily feeling type. His value judgements over more important his intuitive observations. 3.) Hawthorne classified his work as romance. By this he meant that he was attempting to tell the truth of the human heart, and not necessarily fall into realism. Between ENFJ and INFP, I think this better fits with INFP. Fe + Se leads ENFJs to being a surprisingly realistic type despite their Ni.
