What personality type is Tigress? Tigress is an ISTJ personality type in MBTI, 1w9 - sp/so - 136 in Enneagram, RCOEN in Big 5, LSI in Socionics.
After much consideration and reading couple of Claudio Naranjo books, I decided that 1w9 fits her better. Not necessarily being bossy and dominating = E8. As per Claudio Naranjo Book “Enneatype Structures”, both enneagrams 1 and 8 have dominance traits. The difference is E1 shows it in the controlling-demanding-disciplinarian way while E8 shows it as protection from vulnerability and dependency. I think Tigress shows her dominance in a very E1 way. I also see much more anger in her than the lust. Lust, as per Naranjo - “intensity”, “gusto”, “craving for excitement”, “fighting for pleasure” etc. Anger, as per Naranjo - criticality, demanding, over-control and discipline. Tigress has very demanding personality, she follows her own rules and has strong moral compass. She is often angry at Po and criticizes him because he is doing things in his own spontaneous way which seems not right to her. In the movies and series we can clearly see it as interaction between E1 and E7. She is also very minimalist and ascetic character who can endure hardships as discipline. Again, it all seems like anger is her main sin, not lust. And the main thing why I think she is E1, not E8 cause she has very strong superego image. She is the embodiment of the perfect noble knight who fights for honour, justice and all good things. E8s (especially average or unhealthy) otherwise typically have poor superego image and appear like “rebels”, “savages”, “bad girls and boys” who are doing everything their ways without paying too much attention on the social and moral norms. Raphael from TMNT is a great example of E8. You can see that him and Tigress have different motives even though both are very short-tempered and intimidating.
