What personality type is Mantis? Mantis is an INFP personality type in MBTI, 9w1 - sx/so - 964 in Enneagram, RLUAI in Big 5, IEI in Socionics.
I was always in doubt of her type, but after I watched this movie I will say I have almost certain that she is Fi lead. And since is about the third movie, careful with the spoilers. So, my main argument is the en of the movie, when each character decided what they want to do. And for Mantis, the most important thing is to find who she truly is and what she truly wants - Something a Fi dom is all about. As I said in the typing of other characters, INFP usually know what they feel about situations, but sometimes they choose to ignore, and in the end of the movie I felt that this is what Mantis was doing - She was ignoring her own desires because she values her found family. But in the end, she realized that discovering her identity was more important - a very Fi thing. Besides this, I find other attitudes of her to be very Fi. For example, when she says that "manipulate people's feelings are wrong" but what decides when this sentence should be applied is her own feelings in the matter. She decides when is right or wrong. Other scene I find interesting is when she talks with her brother about his grandpa. The situation is cleary tense and being a sensitive she knows that Peter is feeling uncomfortable with the talk - but she kept talking anyway, because she believed in the cause. Anyway, this are my reasons, but feel free to disagree.
Biography
Mantis is a Celestial hybrid empath with the ability to sense other people's feelings and alter them. She was raised alone by her father Ego and later recruited as a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy led by her paternal half-brother, Peter Quill. Since she was a child, Mantis helped ease Ego's neurotic behavior with her powers until the Guardians came to his planet. After bonding with Drax the Destroyer, she came to care for the Guardians and then allied with them to help prevent Ego from conquering the Galaxy. With her own servitude to Ego ended, she became a full-fledged member of the Guardians and accompanied them on further adventures.
