What personality type is Reborn? Reborn is an ENTJ personality type in MBTI, 3w2 - so/sx - 315 in Enneagram, SCOEI in Big 5, in Socionics.
I like how there’s no argument of Reborn’s type, but he really does just respectably share the ENTJ vibe while properly owning the stack to prove so. Just to let others see why he’s an ENTJ though (because I almost typed him an ENTP) here’s my ENTJ argument. Reborn has one of clearest Te doms in this show. Aside from the stereotypical “cold-hearted + bossy” sort of traits he has, he acts upon the Te “tried and true” theory. Before Tsuna, we know Reborn’s past pupil was Dino. Upon his arrival, Dino affirms to Tsuna the many ways Reborn has similarly put him to suffer the same treatments/ extreme training methods. On that note, it was revealed that Reborn also expected Tsuna should then conform to the life of a Mafia Boss just as Dino did. These two patterns alone, from being a Mafia member to how he trains his pupils, are ways Reborn lives alongside what’s been done and reliable. However, what brings his Ni to life is that Reborn doesn’t simply see Tsuna as the pathetic wimp he is. It can be mistaken that Reborn mUsT hAve Si because he compares Tsuna to the first Gen Vongola Family Boss, but Reborn only refers to certains points of the past bosses for reference/explanation to others, such as the gloves that Tsuna inherits etc. In Reborn’s eyes, he doesn’t see Tsuna as simply “like the first Gen Boss”, instead, he continues to actively notice the differences Tsuna is as a person in comparison to these past bosses, and how that will then lead him to be well suited for the tenth Gen boss title. Unlike an Ne-Si user, Reborn’s intuition works to properly predict if “Tsuna acts as such and is trained as such, he can unlock his true potential”, which is such an Te-Ni thinking process. Reborn being a nicely developed ENTJ, even jumps perfectly from an Auxiliary Ni to Tertiary Se as needed, through seeing the objective things as is (pathetic Tsuna + his friends) and using his Te ways to bring into fruition the future he sees, past the present others simply know in the physical. Yamamoto and Tsuna in particular, both being Reborn’s pupils, are a great examples of this, as everyone knew them to be a “Baseball Freak” (via Gokudera) and a “loser wimp”, while as Reborn viewed them in their present forms (Tert Se) and how they could perfectly develop (Aux Ni) into a top Hitman (Yamamoto) and Mafia Boss (Tsuna). Need I remind you again, this is then done using his Te methods. On another note, Reborn’s Se is continuously emphasized as well with his perfect leaping from Ni to Se in order to change with circumstances on a whim, and constant seeking for thrilling experiences. These past experiences even have such a Tert Se and Inferior Fi way to them, with Reborn taking different identities and alter egos, that still contributed well into the future in which Reborn finally met Tsuna (ex. his alter-egos as a Boxer Popo, a professor, etc). FINALLY, emphasis on the Fi haha, Reborn’s inferior Fi is best displayed upon his initial Fi grip through turning into a Arcobaleno. With such a drastic form change, he had that extreme inadequate feeling that many ENTJs feel under their grip, and thus cut off for some time from the world. He most likely had to deal with his Fi through reassessing his life/morals from a grown hitman to his new form and job as an Arcobaleno, thus why he chose to return with a completely new identity, as Reborn.
